I am stuck in the past i guess, i use smouldering for the increase in spell damage, before crit, i know the DPS sucks one spell itself but i always thought that the xtra spell damage would help on the whole set. Anyway, i guess i need to parse it. Mobs usually live about 30 secs, but i like to have a spell set in place for named. So i usually have 10 or so memmed. I do not have the synergy AA trained yet, i guess i need to get with the program, it worth the 100 AA a crack? right now i am boosting all my focus AAs up on the spells i use. Mobs are lasting about 30s, my Mage Box is improving vasstly so i usually pull 2x and pet tank the off Also how does Dichotomic Paroxysm work exactly? (been out of game for about 1.5years, just came back about right at EoK release). Then i wonder how all this is going to impact me toon with the DOT revamp and AA impact. Thanks, 9.
That bonus damage only applies to our lifetap nukes with at least a 10 mana cost, not other dots. For those of you necs still using swarms, you're not dpsing right or much at all using those lines. Prenerf those lines were broken and basically let you kill any named in the game as long as it wasn't a current raid mob. The lines have been nerfed for over a year at least now, maybe close to two. They simply are not doing more dps in place of a dot or a nuke would be doing if you're in a fast paced group. Always swifts first, then regular dots or switch out for some nukes instead of you're in a really good group. The only use for swarm pets is a minor dps increase while holding off a mob for a few seconds to either toss it or allow someone else to pick it off.

Do the necro swarm pets use shaman Roar of the Lion or Talisman of the Leopard effects? And what three swifts are you using? I thought they shared timers across lines so only 2 were available.
Some share timers and some do not. At 105 I use the fire, disease, and lifetap swift dots. Also, I've seen no evidence that my swarm pets are affected by shaman Roar or the big cat procs.
Group abilities don't affect swarm pets. You can technically target them and cast single target buffs, but given that they're temporary and you have to buff each one individually, it isn't really practical to do so. As a result, in most scenarios the only thing that will boost swarm pets are auras.

Swift lifetap is on timer 12 Swift disease & magic share timer 6, so you can only use one or the other (disease is bigger, use that) Swift fire & poison share timer 5, so you can only use one or the other (fire is bigger, use that) edit: whoops, fire isn't named "Swift" because devs are bad people. here's the timer 5 list.
Use Ilsaria's Swift Decay and get the swift + a lower dps disease dot that is longer duration for a little more mana.
