Ok, so I'm running around Phinny the other day, and I see someone link a Dathor Great Hammer. It's a good derailing tool, at 95 delay it has a dmg bonus of 66 per it's 95 delay. Now because it's easy to get, I use a Weighted Axe for that. With 150 delay, it should have the biggest bonus in the game. It has a bonus of 58. What's going on here? Back in the old days of EQ, I know it had a crazy bonus of 132 dmg @65, and it just got loopier from there. I went digging deeper, and when I checked on my lvl 95 warrior, they both had a matching delay dmg bonus of 124. I get why they had to make some kind of change... You could use a kunark-era yard-trash drop as your ripdisc go-to tool *forever* pretty much. But why are things unapologetically backwards at 65?
They changed the damage bonus formulas to better suit how they designed items. The old formulas just didn't scale.
