So I was thinking on the ideal melee raid make up thread and thought it would be interesting to compare rosters and ideas. Our typical roster for my top 10 guild. 1. Warrior warrior cleric cleric sk pally 2. Warrior warrior cleric cleric sk pally 3. Warrior warrior cleric cleric sk sk 4. Shaman bard ranger beastlord berserker rogue 5. Shaman bard ranger beastlord berserker monk 6. Shaman bard ranger beastlord berserker monk (this group tends to vary quite a bit.) 7. Shaman druid beastlord beastlord monk necro necro berserker wizard SK ranger (our overfill group with most common classes first) 8. Druid enchanter mage wiz wiz wiz 9. Druid enchanter mage wiz wiz necro Usually between 52 and 57 depending on when you look at the raid. My mid tier raid group 1. Warrior warrior warrior pally cleric cleric 2. Sk sk sk pally cleric cleric 3. Warrior sk sk pally cleric cleric 4. Shaman bard beastlord ranger monk berserker 5. Shaman rogue rogue monk monk ranger 6. Cleric rogue ranger ranger 7. Crickets 8. Druid enchanter enchanter mage mage wiz 9. Druid enchanter necro necro necro Normally down about 2 dps groups with a lot of variation there, but tanks are mostly regular. If I were making adjustments to composition for the top 10 guild I would probably replace necros with more shaman druids and bards. We are always full on debuffs. I like a lot of redundancy for healing and swapping necros for druid and shaman dotters would be nice (increase AE healing between dot casts etc). Also another enchanter would be awesome. If I were making changes for the mid tier it's mostly about more shaman bards and beasts, then a couple druids and 5 wizards hah.
Ideal? 1. SK/Pal/SK/Sham/Bard/Cler 2. SK/Pal/SK/Sham/Bard/Cler 3. Sham/Bard/Ranger/Bst/<melee>/<melee> 4. Sham/Bard/Ranger/Bst/<melee>/<melee> 5. Sham/Bard/Ranger/Bst/<melee>/<melee> 6. Sham/Bard/Ranger/Bst/<melee>/<melee> 7. Sham/Bard/Nec/Nec/Nec/Enc 8. Druid/Bard/Enc/Wiz/Wiz/Wiz 9. Druid/Bard/Enc/Mag/Mag/Mag Always be burning baby!
G1-8: SK, Shm, Bard, Bst, zerk, zerk G9: Druid, Cleric, Ranger, Enchanter, Necro, Paladin cuz buffs and required cc mechanics lel
I am more interested in what you actually run around with on raids. As much as we would all love 9 bards and no warriors, I am not convinced any moderns raids have attained a situation like that, and if they did I suspect most of those bards are approaching not well played box levels lol. I know dot revamps put a lot of interest in some classes (class of the month) and TBL content has some enchanter demand many guilds were not equiped with coming in. I have a hard time envisioning that any top end raids are really excited about having more than 1 or 2 necros since they stack so poorly.
TBL makes this highly situational as mentioned earlier some raids we swap to 2 tank, 4 melee and 3 caster groups. But a standard 3/3/3 that we run is as follows: 1. Warrior/Warrior/Pally/Cleric/Cleric/SK 2. Warrior/Pally/Pally/Cleric/Cleric/SK 3. Warrior/Warrior/Pally/Pally/Cleric/Cleric 4. Sham/Bard/Ranger/Beast/Monk/Zerker 5. Sham/Bard/Ranger/Beast/Rogue/Zerker 6. Shaman/Bard/Ranger/Zerker/Zerker/Rogue 7. Druid/Necro/Necro/Necro/Enc/Bard 8. Druid/Enc/Wizard/Wizard/Wizard/Wizard 9. Druid/Enc/Mage/Mage/Mage/Mage Occasionally we’ll have all the beasts to better balance group 6 but the rest is a pretty standard raid setup, or what you’d see us run on an expansion launch. As farm happens, the tanks and healing lighten to increase speed with “moar deeps” ™️
That is more ore less our regular make up. Generally really struggle with lack of beastlords, and Shaman.
