Vizat's Carapace Lifedraw + Armor of Ardency Strike

    Not sure if this has ever come up before but I had a question regarding the secondary shadow knight and paladin defensive discs most currently known as Vizat's Carapace and Armor of Ardency. These discs started off at level 56 as Ichor Guard for Shadow knights and Guard of Piety for Paladins. From level 56 until level 83 all versions of these defensive discs only faded once their absorption cap had been reached or they timed out. To say that another way a defensive disc only faded when it had completed its intended defensive purpose or the timer ran out. That changed at level 88.

    At level 88 to current had whats listed as a defensive proc added. In reality it is an offensive flavor boost based on what they do. They both proc damage on a mob and heal the knight for a small amount, paladins also can stun some targets. Neither of these additions are the reason the disc was originally designed and I doubt many people pop these discs in situations for the proc instead of a time when they need a defensive disc.

    Both procs are limited to 32 counters, which is the problem. Being a defensive proc with a +360% proc rate and it procs a lot from all the incoming hits. So more often than not this added offensive flavor aspect is the reason the defensive ability drops. To say that another way a defensive disc only faded because a secondary offensive flavor aspect cap had been reached. Not that the defensive disc had served its intended purpose or timed out.

    This seems like a giant mistake being its the secondary defensive disc for knights. I suggest the cap to these secondary defensive procs goes way up, is removed entirely or that you remove these defensive proc aspects entirely. This is the second defensive disc for knights that is used in defensive settings so a 32 proc counter limit should not be the reason it fades early when it already has a hp threshold cap and a timer.

    TL;DR At some point a meaningless defensive proc that is actually a tiny offensive aspect was added to knights secondary defensive discs. That very often causes the defensive disc to fade early due to its essentially useless proc counter limit rather than the defensive disc running out based on its hp threshold cap being met or the disc timer.

    %100 agreed on the SK lifedraw. I don't want or need the offensive proc, really all that I want from Carapace is the AC, The heal is negligible. Please let this run its full course
