Vaniki relaxed levels for quests??

Bringing attention to some of the early quest lines. At least a few classes could start epics pre 40, hoping everyone else will have the opportunity here. Some of the armor/weapon quests in Kunark and Velious couldnt be started until later as well, for example Thurgadin armor is 46 to start.

Kinda feel like if we can kill it we should be able to finish the quest line, maybe a simple solution would be to add all the quests to a pool and reference one variable that can be adjusted for lowering start level. Another possible easier solution would be to make the player "look 20 levels higher" when the npc checks. Reducing that once the level gap is smaller of course.

I am sure Devs have already thought about solid solutions but just encase some things were missed and these ideas help move a few cogs :) Just want to make sure we have access to as many quest lines as possible without wasting time working on things that cant be finished and then end up being useless when the next massive pile of content unwraps. Cheers

Most content will become irrelevant quick, especially here. I believe lvl 40 will be the best opportunity to take advantage of epics and any quest rewards from the Trilogy. Once we are 55 we will be moving through planar progression quite easily and will no longer need them. I believe at 50 we will be capable of clearing a lot of luclin and will also be replacing most epics.

I'm hoping they can just trick the server into thinking everyone is their level + 20, so items can be worn at much lower levels, you can learn spells that are higher level than you, and you can do quests that are higher level than you.

What would the point be then?

    So stuff will not rot.

If so, what would be the point of level limits?

Probably the wrong solution since it actually defeats the point of the Level locking challenge presented.

The devs will need to consider what they do with Mezz & Charm spells on this server since those have hardcoded level limits but those are probably the only potential spells players might need to be able to use at lower levels anyway, everything else is about level-difference & resists.
And maybe part of the challenge does involve playing without Mezz but that is such a key abilitiy for Enchanters (and to some extent Bards/Necromancers) that the class is going to feel disproportionately hamstrung.

Most minimum level requiremenets on quests, items & zones will get some relaxation I think, at least going from the initial post.

Yes, to clarify I meant for learning/casting spells, using equipment and doing quests and access to zones. You'd still have the lower level hitpoints, mana, aas, and skills.

I have never done that math or tested it, but my gut feeling is that the majority of mana/HP comes from gear. Skill levels is an interesting point that I hadn't even thought about. Wow, this server is going to have trouble with class balance. They're going to have to alter combat mechanics as well potentially as far as chance to hit goes. Sounds like the kind of server that's going to require a lot of attention to detail. Good luck guys.

I'm basically just expecting a 5 or 6 level drop in zone/gear requirements, maybe epics, and end of level bracket mobs to basically resist as if already tashed/malod
