One major developer quits/resigns during production and another plans/goes on an out of country vacation right after a new expansion release? I would LOVE a job where my vacation gets approved when a huge project is ongoing... especially right when the holidays are about to hit which means everyone is going to be gone even MORE. And let's be serious, for example, is adding Faerune to all helms really outside the qualifications of everyone else still in the office? Or what about Dichotomic spells... one of the defining features of the expansion (supposedly). That just gets put on hold indefinitely because someone went on vacation? Come on guys... these are not legitimate excuses.
That's just awful management right there. And you might as well tackle some of those issues even if you aren't that knowledgeable in it all because you can't possibly make most of it worse.
Companies that put their people first keep the good people longer. As someone in management, I appreciate them not holding a gun to their developers heads during release times. Of course people will complain because it inconveniences them, but really, you all can wait. Stats on items shouldn't be causing you the heartache you're acting like. And sometimes companies have to release then fix to meet deadlines that improves the companies earnings statements which keeps the company alive longer. If you all would look past the trees and see the forest, maybe you'd have a little more compassion.
Yeah but didnt we say that 3 expansions ago? Then last expansion? Now this? At what point can we stop using the same old excuses to cover up the same old mistakes time and time again? When do things get better?
Not even TBM is a reason for a company to treat workers badly or unfairly. EQ devs are still people that deserve to get adequate time off, compensation, benefits, and all the other things that go with being an employee instead of a slave to a multi million dollar clownshow of a company. A: Never. B: When project management and devs are willing to scrap and/or rework their systems and traditions that are clearly failing at multiple levels.
I know everyone balked at the idea of smaller releases/campaigns instead of a big yearly expansion but things wouldn't be anywhere near this bad if they changed to a more agile update cycle. Let them push out small pieces every few months after they've actually finished the work and things have been tested. It would be better for everyone.
They tried that with COTF, and it meant they were in a never ending crunch time and duplicating all the work that goes into things like beta that are done for every release.
Folks, never forget the devs and such bust their behinds off for us. It is decisions outside of their hands that can make us, well, unhappy.
As much as we all LOVE guild h8/drama... bug thread is not the place for it. There are already multiple going in the vet lounge though!
Thunderfoot is still bugged for proc rate. This is testable damage. Parsing 1900 Flying kicks - Thunderfoot proced 43 times. which is a 2.26% Proc rate, not 12%
