Upcoming Server Merge

There were two 51/50 servers. Quarm was the second one, Mayong was the first one.

Would have been Trakanon.

I remember checking that server, and /who all 1 105 or whatever would get you like 6 people.

Yeah, it may have been Trak I logged into. Felt like I was in that episode of The Twilight Zone, "Where is everybody?"...hehe.

Yes, Trak before the free heroic toon/anniversary stuff was basically occupied by a few different groups of boxers, with the odd single player every once in awhile. Baz had 1 to 3 vendors. Now, the population grew quite a bit, but mainly more boxers. The baz has 8-10 vendors now!

Perfect for social distancing?

Vox has an active raiding guild clearing T1 ToV (and has been since ToV raid launch). People on these forums tend to use raiding guild success as a proxy for the health of a server, which can be misleading in the case of Vox. The server is primarily a home for groupers rather than hardcore raiders, as evidenced by the lack of hardcore raid guilds. It is also a server where a lot of people box.

Fippy has no one on it. The server population died out in early 2016 when the final remaining guild, Citizen, lost too many members to the Phinigel TLP server and could no longer progress. Expansions unlocked as you beat the final raid of the prior expansion and the server ended up permanently locked in TDS as of 2016.

Trakanon has a low population in general. You cannot transfer TO the server so the population was limited to those who grew up on Trakanon. I logged in from time to time and it felt like the perfect server for players that wanted to do their own thing. I think these same players will find that Vox is the best home they could hope for in a server merge.

I don’t doubt that DPG studied the daily-active-user data and specifically chose to merge away Fippy + Trakanon due to the above factors. Vox was the logical choice to absorb them. I don’t anticipate the merger will have much of an impact on Vox though.
