Turn off true box on older TLP

Can we please, for the love of the Norrathian gods, turn off truebox on older TLPs.. like Coirnav? Server is desolate and there is no need for this function here anymore. Thanks.

Either buy a laptop or move to Yelinak now that features the rule set you are looking for. I like Truebox and I don't want them to set a precedence by changing rules that have already been set

Lots of things have been changed over the years, most recently they changed the release date of expansions on Mischief, Thornblade, Aradune and Rizlona even though those were part of the core release rules. They also moved OoC regen to GoD instead of TSS. Adjusting "rulesets" is nothing new. Changing the truebox rules is no different than moving OoC regen around, there are no live Truebox servers, every TLP will eventually lose Truebox status. Every. Single. One. Its just a matter of when. Phinny lost its truebox status at an earlier era than Miragul did, which is an earlier era than Coirnav (Mangler, Aradune, Mischief, etc) is scheduled to. Doing it in HoT or TDS is not going to affect the population in a negative way vs doing it in ToL or whatever the "live" expac is when they get there.

Put it to a per server vote if the devs seriously think there would be that big of an uproar to retroactively apply the relaxed ruleset to the older servers.

Turn off the need of muliboxing.

This is the correct answer, however that would require the entire game philosophy to change and retuning 28 expansions of content. Much easier to make TLPs similar to live servers and just not worry about truebox after a certain point.

I have multiple laptops and true box. But like I said, after a while it’s not necessary as the krono farmers have moved on back to classic tlps. Also, if there was no need for true box or boxing that would be okay with me but as mentioned in this thread that probably just won’t happen. Also I only 3 box max. I just feel at this point true box on a server like coirnav is not necessary and if I can I’d rather just use one PC vice my other 2.

Fun fact, Yellinak will enter it's relaxed truebox state (3 clients per PC) about 2 month before Coirnav hits Terror of Luclin (the current live expansion). So not overly helpful advice.

It just seems logical to disable truebox on the lower pop servers to help them out once they get to a certain era, glad they are doing this going forward, but i imagine it would help a lot if they applied it to the current TLPs as well, some of them need it

Or they can just update their servers to better accommodate the players on that server, especially when your option includes adding onto the already ongoing awful energy and sustainability crisis on this planet.

And who is everyone? Are you playing on Coirnav? How does this request affect you?

Exactly why does the fanbase defend multiple $100+ purchases just to effectively play a 20+ year old game? Like just because that's something you did doesn't mean it should be considered acceptable. And boxing really is more and more necessary to combat population decline if you want to do more than chat with your guild outside of raids.

All TLP servers should just have this remove in GoD+ its pretty pointless at this point and only prevents mass boxers running around which still happens anyways because each TLP more and more players find ways around the truebox and some of the same players do it every TLP

Like I get it, back in 2000 noone was 4 boxing on a Gateway over dial up with charm pets. No argument.

But like, when the expansions we are talking about were released players most certainly boxed off one PC.

Would kill for relaxed truebox on Aradune now that we're decently far into progression as far as TLPs go.

Plus, why insist on the largest carbon footprint to allow the same play? it's dumb.

I totally get why it's a necessary evil at the start of some TLPs, but by Gates of Discord, the Krono farmers taper off and guilds and guild rosters do too. After GoD or so, the only people who fight removing truebox are those who want to preserve an advantage.

Truebox is the aberration to a ruleset and should be removed when it's no longer "medically necessary" to save the patient.

Treat it like Benzos. When you have to, you have to, but also, get off them as soon as you don't anymore as they're a crutch and an addiction.

Live players have been able to multibox on one pc since someway through Depths of Darkhollow, Truebox after that point creates an artifical situation no live player had to deal with in the expansions after that point.

Yelinak & Vaniki are a step in the right direction & players have certainly made this an issue teh developers should be listening to them about.

But like anything, they will need to have a sit down discussion about it & they will need to schedule time to actually do that. Your guess is as good as mine on when that actually gets to happen.
