Trouble logging in to new server

Would someone please explain the best practice for logging in to a new server on launch day? Trying to get into Aradune, but it says server is at max capacity, and says I'm in a login queue that should last an average of 1 minute. 5 minutes later, nothing's happening. Should I just keep waiting? Or should I keep clicking Play Everquest button and OK over an over?

Just wait. This happens every new TLP server.

Thanks Newbie32. So just to confirm, leave the alert box up, and just wait, without clicking "OK" to close alert. Now it says average time 9 minutes :(

Me and my 9 year-old son are ready to go. Started playing with him about a month ago on another server, and got him hyped about having the experience of playing on a server on day one.. Hope this opens up soon...

In 2017 they said it doesn't matter if you hit ok or not you'll still get logged in.

What you do need to do is make sure you move your mouse around so you don't get considered inactive and kicked due to that.

be prepared to wait up to 2 hours. more if the system actually crashes and we all have to start over.

Perfect, that's the info I needed. Thank you!

I know this is older code but by now you'd think they's make adjustments to handle more players, especially considering instancing and such.

It is just a waiting game for all of us not lucky enough to get in at the start, it could be awhile as we need people to log off so we can get in. As was said above just make sure to move your mouse around off and on so it knows you are still active, but it all could depend on if the server crashes too. You may want to do something else as it could be awhile but stay close to move the mouse around otherwise you may get bumped for inactivity. Both these TLP servers are extremely popular so for the next few days if not longer it could be like this.

There's a missed opportunity here with the popularity of these TLPs. They could have offered add-on purchases/subscriptions to guarantee you get into the server at launch. Like the Fast Pass concept at amusement parks or Early Boarding on planes. People definitely would have paid for that!

I mean, we were clicking "login" within the first 5 seconds of launch. It's true the first few messages were a little different, had different text. But I kept clicking OK then Play several times. As that didn't seem to work, I clicked Logout and then logged back in. I hope that didn't push me to the back of the queue. And that was 50 minutes ago. I wondering what I should have done different.

It's a little anti-climactic for us. We've been talking about it for days... and he finished his schoolwork early so we'd be ready to go at launch time. Sigh.

This is same old same old. Good thing they won't lock down the servers about an hour after you are in and "relaunch" causing you to lose DB cash spent on xp potions.... wait... that's exactly what they did when they launched ragefail and lockout servers

From what I have seen on other posts they are keeping the population low and gradually increasing it so the servers do not crash. It seems only a couple hundred of people are on Aradune at the moment so hopefully us who have been waiting in queue since 3 will be let in soon enough, but I am just being optimistic really.

I know the original code was written in 1999, but I'm assuming they're not using server hardware from 1999, too. :p

Aaaand they just scrubbed the Dragon Space-X launch. Not my day lol.

I love the "you have been disconnected due to non-activity" message you now get.

It's not you. It's a problem with the servers. In fact all are down at the moment i am posting this. Checked Everquest Twitter. They know about this. EDIT: I should have said they are locked. Not down.

If you close the alert box, then try to log in to the server again, the alert box will say something like "you are still in the queue"... so you can close it without leaving the queue.

I'm guessing this is due to some WoW jerks doing a DOS attack on Daybreak, mixed with a naturally occurring, unintentional DOS attack by all the players trying to log in to to the new servers. I got booted out of the game on an older server.
