Trial lockouts and the risk of suspensions?

I think that is only if you are the first in zone. No need to get all snippy dude.

wasnt being snippy, was just clarifying the way it was said. It can easily be read wrong lol. IDK about if you are the first to zone in tho. that would need testing!

Person who requests the instance is the one that is considered for the lockout.

Given that merc healers are very subpar on this content and merc tanks are laughable I think its a good system to leave as is. It allows the few healers to help others that need it without bottnecking groups waiting for a live healers lockouts to be up.

    Just tested it..

Had lock outs on my zerker squad for Wending ways, was still able to request Smoke trials, was unable to access that particular trial .. due to not being able to open the gate to it even on the zerker who had requested a new trial instance, and had that particular lock out. (Wending Ways)

It is essential a Dev answer if this is the intention or not. Right now if you take the safe route and assume bypassing the lockout timer like this is an exploit then it make it nearly impossible to form groups where everyone doesn't have a lockout timer on one or more trials.

Still no dev answer / response ..

I for see a lot of us .. in trouble LMFAO

Was responded to in another thread by Ngreth I believe. Don’t abuse this (use common sense), and you will be fine. If you are “taking advantage” there is be a “I told you so” moment which won’t be a fun one. If you are on lockout - don’t do it again. You are risking your account.

Yes, I agree it is a very poorly designed system. Especially since the lockouts show under expeditions which most don’t check unless you are a raider. This could have been done in a much better, less prone to cause issues, way. Instead you will have to police yourselves and refrain from playing in the unintended way. (It’s like they are baiting people to exploit things - cactusgate 2.0.)

Be smart. Be safe. See you in Norrath.

Patch note are up .. Not a single change to any lock system in the patch notes .. Not a single response from a dev ..

That to me mean's the lock out system as in place as of this post ..

They clearly know about it via this thread and how many people petitioning, begging for answers, and no one getting a response.

    See yall in Norrath.

Not sure about the smoke trials but they nerfed farming the fight fire farming.

nothing was done for the smoke trials at all. Least nothing was "noted" for it in the patch notes. If it remains the same. I for one will consider it a closed issue, as they have known about it for a while now, and have a damn near 30 pg thread on it asking for info.

And not a peep out of anyone who works there. Which to me simply mean's have at it.

how about a lock out for that damn drake in smoke trial (and a few of the adds too)
if they wipe your grp too many times lock them out and let them spawn in another 2 1/2 days (better yet how about a week) :)

Exploits aren't noted in the patch notes. So if this was indeed considered an exploit, it would have just been fixed silently as always. We'll find out when the servers go up. (Then a new rage post can start!)

Here is a thought make the smoke trails doable by a normal group and stop making every thing about raiders!!!!!!!!! it you do not have a raid tank and a raid healer you can not do the expansions anymore so just don't buy them any more

    Yes you can.

I love these Wag-The-Dog threads. The hidden agenda is so obvious!

As mentioned per my post above Ngreth did answer what he at least believes is acceptable regarding lockouts etc in the fight fire thread on beta forums. https://forums.daybreakgames.com/eq/index.php?posts/3725345/

Also as I mentioned, I think the design is poor and they should remove the ability to do trials again if someone else is off lockout and then requests it. Like many have said this is cactusgate 2.0. It’s unbelieveable we the players have to police ourselves vs things simply not being exploitable. (Of course unintended bugs can happen but this was by design...)

I do not think it is unbelievable or unreasonable for players to police themselves. While i do agree a developer should come in and specifically say if this is illegal or not, i do think we as players should use good judgment.

Example- at the start of ROS i was told and shown a way for me, a magician, to single pull any mob i wanted out of a group of mobs without any concern of pulling adds. It is a way that I know is not the intended usage of the way. After trying it one time and realizing how unintentional it is, i chose to not use it again. Whether a developer knows about it is irrelevant to me- I know this is wrong, and I know I am not going to use this way to single pull. Kind of like the GPP of probably a decade ago: I was told about it, i tried it once, saw how "wrong" it is, and chose not to partake in it again.

If something does not feel intended or "right", then most likely it is wrong. And yes I agree a developer really needs to just come out and blatantly say if it is intentional or not. But until then, police yourself and pay the price if you choose to skirt the line...

    @Roxxyyl

Can we please get clarification as to whether running a mission that flags the group leader with a loot lock out and then switching group leaders in group and running the instance again is not intended and is an action we can receive a suspension for. Thank you!

In my previous post prior to the one you quoted I mentioned all should simply not do it or do so at your own accounts expense. So yes we both agree to refrain and use good judgement. However, you shouldn’t be able to bypass lockouts like this even if it is by accident. (Often people don’t think about it as they are shown in the expedition window which isn’t really what we are used to looking at for group timers.)

Hope a dev chimes in and officialises their stance but until then beat practice is to not do it and be very aware of your own timers.

If you have the same 6 people you cant just keep changing group leader. If you have 5 people and a spare that do them and then you swap the spare toon to do them again for core 5 and then swap that same spare toon again so the same 5 can do them then you are exploiting it. If I am locked out on a trial as a tank and I join a group to help them do the mission because they need a tank then I think that falls within Ngreth's statement of don't overdo it. Clearly they allowed a way for mandatory classes to help others get past the trials. From their statement that is not exploiting the system.
