"Tormax DoA"

Not everyone is interested in special ruleset servers, or just particular ones, and that's perfectly fine. Those players still need options, though.

Those players better be spending 10x the cash to make up for the numbers difference. As a Live player, I need DPG to be milking the TLPs as much as possible, and then maybe we can get more content.

Low pop on launch is ridiculous, and that's a disservice to the rest of the playerbase.

That is my take away as well, I understand that I'm the minority for not enjoying the Random Loot, and with it's popularity it's probably the 'new default' sad for me and others like me, but I'm not delusional about it.

I opted to not play Tormax because it was pretty obvious exactly this was going to happen. So I guess I will wait for next year and see what happens, but honestly, I'd be surprised if we don't get a Mischief-like clone again, it seems to be the economically obvious choice for Daybreak, maybe that means it's time to hang up the EQ hat, or give Live a shot, I don't know.

What those players do or don't do have nothing to do to you and you are no more valuable of a customer than anyone else. Sorry to be the one to break it to you. I continuously subbed some combination of 1 to 6 accounts for over 12 years, with returns intermittently since. That and a credit card buy me coffee at Starbucks.

DBG knows what they are dealing with to keep their game running. The resources rationalization for pitching a tantrum over decisions they make that people don't like is exactly that.

If it makes you feel any better I don't think they will do a random loot server again next year. I do think your chances of getting something a little more normal are pretty high.

I'd take a Vaniki or Oakwynd 2.0, I don't mind adding a little caramel swirl to my vanilla icecream! But we will see, no matter what they do there is one thing we will know for sure; People will bicker about it on the forums

We can look at a burning building to know it's on fire. We don't have to actually go inside.

I, however, have characters on both servers, so I do know for a fact from firsthand experience, that Tormax is on fire, and not in a good way.

Please enlighten me on the conclusion to this fire. Do you think they will shut the server down? EQ will go out of business?

Im trying to understand why people think that a less populated server is going to be a disaster.. i think we all knew it would be less than Teek upon release & it has been 22 hours.

They literally think EQ is going to shut down because of Tormax

It makes the financials under perform. It's a bad deal for everyone that the Tormax crowd didn't appear.

No, they don't. But they are going to pretend that it will as cover for crying about it not being an overflow server to make their experience better on their preferred server, especially right now at launch.

In 3 to 6 months, most of these people won't be playing on either and next year most of the ones that are left, along with a lot of the first group, will be back to start on next years'. And, assuredly, the sky will be falling about something else, then. "Adhere to my preferences or it will be a waste of precious resources that will end the game."

Been to this rodeo so many times, it's comical to watch.

People who don't like Free trade / Random Loot

THIS. this needs to be reposted on every single thread about it lmao. I saw this during every TLP release.. its gotta get tiring lmao

Tormax is a massive flop, there's no arguing it anymore. Not even 250 people on the server. Theres literally 15 players in Halas, and 5 of them are boxing a shaman.

Its a shame nobody told DBG 10032338247239462348976234 times this was going to be a massive waste of money.

Oh wait.. we did. Repeatedly.

Now Im stuck on this garbage server because I STILL cant get on the server I WANT to play on.

This is DBG's proudest "DO YOU GUYS NOT HAVE PHONES?!" moment. Im not giving them a dime of my money until they address this debacle publically.

Whats to address? They bet on the wrong horse and lost. They said there were 2 servers. There are two servers. One just is performing poorly.

You're playing TLP servers, so they are already getting your money

It seems like the devs or at least the people making the decisions don't understand their game or player base.

Tormax screams to me a decision based on data by people who didn't understand the data. We all know why Aradue was a popular server for a while, and it wasn't because it was a great ruleset.

I bet they saw that new subs went through the roof in May 2020 and thought that it must have been a great ruleset. I know i resubbed randomly after 10 years away, because i suddenly had quite a bit of free time on my hands.
