The necro dot bug was fixed. Somewhere there is a post about it counting like twice as much "damage credit towards kill" or something (I don't remember exactly, its been awhile). That's why they would always win credit for the mob. No more of that.

Also, the mischief ruleset is the best thing ever. When I heard the idea for the server I just didn't get it so I didn't care and totally missed out. It just sounded like some goofy nonsense and I didn't understand how it would fundamentally make the entire game better. I started on mischief in TSS and it just blew me away. I've been waiting for the chance to begin a new TLP with this ruleset since oakwynd didn't deliver it. Teek is going to be so amazing.

Some of your worries listed aren't accurate or lack important context. People have answered some of that though. I'd say just log on to teek and play where all the people are going to be. It's gonna be a massive success and a great community I hope.

You are 100 % correct; Most of the people that play will Mischief are recycle tlp'ers that are mega- burned out from their 5th TLP server and want an easier path to obtain their loot with the least amount of effort.
Its a more casual server with a higher probability of gaining higher income = Kronos; which is one of the main appeals to this server.

What is wrong with any of that?
Recycling TLPers are keeping the game alive with a nice influx of cash each year. Nothing wrong with recycling. How dare they play the portions of the game they enjoy!
People want to be able to play the game and progress (get loot) in a reasonable amount of time invested? OMG lynch them!
Server is going to have a thriving economy as people rotate out their old raid loot when they get new raid loot and other folks can snap that up for their alts and continue to enjoy the game SAY IT AIN'T SO!

I absolutely agree that people should be allowed to play EQ the way they like, and the Mischief ruleset seems popular. Good for them!

What I can't stand is the Mischief crowd who wines every time a non mischief server is announced about how DBG is just stupid for ever releasing anything except free-trade random loot ever again citing the popularity of Mischief.

People should absolutely be allowed to enjoy Mischief / Teek / Whatever the next one is, but I don't enjoy the ruleset and wish they would offer me the same curtesy of not Sh***ng in the sandbox just because they like to play differently.

You mean like the boxing crowd does every time a truebox server comes out?

Or like everyone with a half baked idea on what the servers should actually be when they announce literally any server?

People have opinions. The forums is a place for sharing those opinions, if you don't like em, share yours so DBG can get a better feel for how the population feels about something or just walk away and ignore it.

Bonus points if you can express your opinion without dumping on the other side. (No, it's not something I have always managed to do, but we all have room for growth.)

This just isnt correct at all. The "boxing crowd" does not care about truebox as they can circumvent it easily and do every single TLP. The people who dont like Truebox are just regular players who play 2 or 3 characters and would like not to have to multiple PCs for it.

If you play past the first handful of expansions you will quickly realize that a vast majority of eq players do play more than 1 character. Even Aradune, the 2 box limit server, was filled with people boxing 2+ character. They are the normal players.

If anything its the stubbornly solo players who think everyone should build groups around them and help carry them that on everyone demanding truebox when the time and place for that has past years ago.

There's a lot of negativity and chaos in the world these days. People are more narcissistic and anything they aren't for they're against. Dunno why it's this way other than that the majority of people have never faced real adversity and never learned gratitude and acceptance or to lift eachother up. Even those different.

I never said there's anything wrong with Mischief; to the contrary, Mischief is probably carrying the TLP life-line at the moment. I was just simply stating why a Mischief format TLP is heavily favored vs. a Standard tlp
-People are tired of the same thing every year
-Its easier to reach your accomplishments on a more casual Mischief server due to free trade+extra loot.

At the end of the day, we have to enjoy EQ while it lasts --because its not going to be around forever

Sure. I am a Teek fan and don't understand why people would prefer a traditional server but they should do what makes them happy. Pretty sure I have only squabbled with the normies when they were dumping on random loot and the people who enjoy it. I haven't really noticed any dumping on people who prefer Tormax. Maybe a little laughing when some overly optimistic normie swears it'll be just as healthy as the other TLPs, but that is about it.

A vocal minority of players has a 'krono' stake in making sure the population of R.M.Teek is off the charts.

The same people who loudly objected to the Oakwynd rules, because they couldn't train and ks. Yet somehow everyone on oakwynd seems to love it there, no toxicity.
