Somehow these flopped harder then the 20th anniversary servers. No interest in that traditional ruleset. They are re-hashing that too much.

What's so traditional? Both are anything but "Traditional"?
-There has never been a 4 week classic TLP start server; followed up by 8/12 week expansions (Except Selo's which did not start in Classic)
-There was never been a level locked server, (This is a new concept) nevertheless, a GoD start which gives you both Zerkers/Bst's.
-You still have Mischief active, for those that can't give up the infinite loot pinata/krono server, which will be around the same expansion as Viniki..

This is some real Main Character Syndrome nonsense...

When mischief released? I knew it, Skuz is now a Kronolord.

Well I'm glad to hear there'll be a TLP with basically Mangler ruleset. Bit bummed at classic only lasting 1 month but can't have everything. See you bastids and bishes in game.

    Fixed! ;)

Meh, was hoping for something interesting Mangler ruleset is done to death, and level caps with GOD start is lame. I don't see the appeal of being 10 levels lower than the most current content, how is that fun and exciting... Sad to say I'll pass

Have to agree that these TLP servers are laughable bad ideas at this time. A Mangler clone is just so boring and still holds the PoP / LDoN and others stretches of "TLP death". Vanki's starting expansion is ok to shake things up and level lock is something different but its speed and lack of anything else of interest just destroys it on launch. Vanki just might crash and burn harder than that level 80?ish TLP that lasted what? a day? a week? Just a real lack of understanding the playerbase.

If I was it was a very minor one.

Well, if players want something that interests them they should say what it is they are looking for, devs are not mind readers and usually whatever idea players come up with the devs will put a bit of their own creativity on top of it - like folks wanted Free Trade they got the Mischief Ruleset a combination of player wants & dev creativity/design.

I suggested the GoD-Start TLP with a Level unlocked beginning (or 51/50) or an LLP with all the expansions open, some suggested an ELP (era-locked) what we got with Vaniki kinda meshed those together & the devs added a little twist of their own to it.

So really the players have gotta come up with at least the basics of what they are looking for, because while the devs are smart people they can't think of everything.

    We already been tellin' them.
  12. Skuz I am become Wrath, the Destroyer of Worlds.

True enough, but it has to be an idea with broad enough appeal.

Devs biggest input on these decisions doesn't come from ForumQuesters or from Discord; they talk to guild leaders, and mostly those guilds which have stayed the course on previous TLPs. They listen to what helps and hurts retention, and what factors make it easy or hard to schedule. That's what determines cadence. If you're in an active guild on an existing TLP, your voice has 10x-100x the weight it gets from a few forum posts. Sorry if that dissolutions some people, but it's how EQ has operated for many years, on Live servers as well, and since before the first TLP launch.

We were bound to get a standard-rules TLP as one of the two, since we haven't had one in two years, and there is a lot of demand ($) for it. That they went with a LLP concept for their "experimental" server this cycle is hardly a surprise, since that option has been kicked around for a couple of years at least. I don't expect to roll on it personally, but it will definitely be interesting to observe.

Mischief was for the krono boys. They'll flock to yelinak like the salmon of capistrano

Looking forward to Blizz listening to their customers and releasing WoTLK Classic soon. Easy choice for some and others keep buying in to this ....junk really. Some companies don't care. Actions speak louder than words.

    Cool story bro

    progression servers are zero sum

vaniki took the slot of this year's unique progression server, so it's obvious why someone would be upset who didn't like it

I don't like it either and was hoping they'd learn from mischief to add free trade at least, but I'll just play yelinak

Phinny/Mangler, keep the real EQer alive!!

Yelinak had such a low turnout that the raiding guilds at my timeslot were very limited.
