TLP not Classic

There are a lot of people posting on this form complaining ragefire isn't classic enough. Well ragefire isn't a classic server, that vote lost. Ragefire is a race server, that's what progression servers have been since they started. Every expansion up until underfoot will be beaten in under 2 weeks of its release, that's how it was on the last round of progression. If anything you can expect to see them beaten faster.

Any argument about ragefire not being how it was in 99 is automatically irrelevant. That isn't the intent of the server, it is a race server.

Now that everyone knows this.. READY START YOUR ENGINS! ON YOUR MARK, SET, GO!

I wouldn't call it a race server. There are those who will race to start the unlock timers, and then there's the rest of us.

But, indeed, it is not a classic server, nor was it meant to be one.

I agree with you bandok, as I my self wont be racing.. But it is the style of game play the server was designed for originally. the timelock part that was added for fippy and vulak is too slow progression down.

Thats simply not true at all. DBG's billed this as a classic experience with maximum nostalgia. I as well as thousands of other people got emails hyping it up as this type of experience. They did not bill it as a TLP server dps burn em up race. And notice how the classic maximum nostalgia hype got more people onto Ragefire, than Fippy and Vulak combined, ever had. Thats the experience the majority of gamers want, and this server proved that.

You can blame everyone on all sides all you want but there were posts from certain DBG people about reliving 1999 :)

So can you really blame anyone when the people in charge say come here and relive the greatness of 1999? I sure can't

Was there actually a vote option for "more Classic"? I don't think requiring spell book medding, hell levels, and other similar were even on the table.

    Agreed.

Just be happy there are a lot of us who want the classic servers that will settle for a TLP, otherwise you probably wouldn't even be getting your TLP server. So don't tell me our desires aren't relevant - we are funding a good chunk of this server for you race-types.
    Jent and Tamier like this.

its remarkable that despite the massive botching on multiple fronts, from advertising it as a "classic" experience, when that obviously isnt possible due to the global changes to character power, and the laughable level 50 bug that caused two server wipes, and the login problems, and 2 hour queues to log in....that its STILL a success in terms of people wanting to play on the server.

Look I'd rather have a classic server my self, or a timelocked server up to PoP.. that's what I really wanted.. there was a vote for a TLP or a classic server... TLP servers are about completing the content and moving on to the next expac. Its what it is.

Couldn't agree more. They've plastered the "Play like it's 1999" thing all over. Give me a break on the "it's not meant to be classic" argument.

you're believing what you want to believe, TLP servers are RACE servers... they just happened to start in classic that was 1999, hence the marketing..
