Tired of bazaar botters, seeking advice

Stating that needing 6 true boxes for Phinny is as dumb as assuming you need 18 accounts for Ragefire/Lockjaw. Ridiculous statements deserve ridiculous rebuttals. Of course you don't need any of that for either server. Ragefire is a pleasure to be on now that the toxicity belongs to Phinigel and Agnarr.

Phinnys been pretty civil since GoD hit.
Possibly happened during our boredom of PoP, just after all the plane of storms fun.

I mean there is some E - comparisons, but competition is healthy.
  3. Aziuno Augur

Lol.. Didn't realize that was censored, that's funny.
  4. Guzzle Augur

Phinny has been pretty chill - no more "toxic" than any other server.

Set your price TO the lowest price instead of lower. Or just buy the stuff and profit.

Finding a bazaar bot is like finding an open gold mine.

I milked 2 bots back during phinny luclin.

Finding a bot doing krono or high value or large quantities is like knowing what the commodity market is going to do one day ahead.

    Happy hunting.

The biggest problem on Phinny is the thugs from the top guilds rolling over people on exp/loot camps. I'll take that over 18 boxers any day.

Pay for powerlevelling? I will gladly powerlevel with anyone for free, quite a lot of us do. My requirements are this:
    - You join me and attempt to play your class correctly
    - You do not complain about boxing, boxers or pontificate about how the game should be
    - You similarly do not complain when I bring two level 60s OOG, who are going to do the work and make it fast.
    - You prepare to stick around for 4-6 hours (I usually do this on weekends, or friday night)

Done properly we can all go from 1-50 in a couple days, and have a lot of fun. In reality the LFG pool is pretty small, and the ones there are either bads or flake out in an hour because guild raids or other things they should have seen coming. As a direct result, I and people like me, tend to keep to ourselves. It may LOOK like a paid PL service, but in most cases it is not, it's just people needing a class levelled who are frustrated with the LFG pool.

I have absolutely no sympathy about the krono market, the player economy or any of that drama. If someone finds a way to drive prices down, GREAT. If you want to start over on a less botty server, then Agnarr or Phinigel are good choices.

That has happened on every server since the inception of Everquest! Most people who glorify "the good old days" as times of civility and respect were never high-end competitive players. They probably never experienced intentional blocking of content from higher guilds, even multiple expansions back.

Sure, but it's not quite the same since the PnP went away. In the SOE days, people would have been banned for the bad behavior that is the norm today.

Are kronos really 85-90k on ragefire and/or lockjaw? That is fascinating, since that's far more than they were on Phinny in that era, or the current one for that matter. I guess people just value plat on those servers lower?
  12. Astley Augur

I believe there were some platinum surges/dupes that supposedly caused the huge price jumps awhile back. Also, lower overall population now, more boxes proportionally... the desire for krono goes up a bit.
  13. Adonhiram Augur

The prices for krono suddenly jumped in that range (and still are less or more) at Luclin start on Ragefire iirc, but I have no market-related explanation, I just use this to make platinum to fund my pet´s needs.
  14. Zinth Augur

flawed logic, if they never come out of "offline mode" then they can't change their prices since they are not online aka not connected... smell bull

Have you just tried price matching? People that live off making trade skill items quickly realize undercutting cuts your throat and your competition. The smartest thing to do is price match and take what sales you can get. Less time adjusting prices and more time playing is a win and if you are able to build a reputation people might buy from you instead of the other guy at the same price. I know if a certain trader sells something I need at a reasonable price I will keep going back to them. Out of principal I will even buy from them if someone decides they want to undercut them by a plat just to make a sale even if this means I spend a couple more coins for the same item. Its in my best interest as a buyer to give that person an incentive to continue to make items I need. If profits dry up the items go away and then I have to spend my playing time making crap I would rather pay someone else to make. A couple ways you can combat someone like this is to offer bulk discounts in general or advertise buy x number of items get one free for the next xx minutes. I have done this before when I have a surplus of items I want to offload. If you want to be in sales you have to be creative some times. If you just want to throw crap on a trader and wake up rich you will probably end up disappointed. Give people a reason to buy from you instead of the other guy outside of just making your item a small percentage cheaper and expecting to make sales.

Yeah, as previously mentioned, there was some kind of dupe that people got busted for, but the plat remained in the economy. As high as it might seem, the krono value really hasn't been too detrimental to Ragefire, at least. The economy is just really weird with their pricing. For example, you can buy a SBoZ here for ~9kp, but then I can sell a Jeldorin for 35-40k lol.

The krono price on Ragefire has always been way higher than on Phini. The real reason prices shot up was because there was massive ACTUAL platinum on the server (not because of any duping), and when Agnarr was announced/launching everyone started selling off their stuff to buy krono. The reason the prices never went down is because people started to realize they could actually sell krono for those prices, and boxers would pay it.

I was buying tons of kronos at 20k a pop for the longest time, it wasn't until Agnarr was announced that the prices shot up to 30k then 50k within a two week period, and steadily climbed to the 80-100k they are now.

I highly encouraged many people to plat dump when they were 20k because it was insane they were even selling for that low for so long. The only thing that changed this, again, was Agnarr.

This sounds like the little guy complaining about Walmart coming into town and beating them in the market. Cry cry cry...and then sell your store and go work for Walmart. They aren't doing anything illegal. The times have changed and you can't keep up. You do have my sincere empathy, but I don't think anything needs to be done because I don't think anything is wrong.

The biggest joke is that ALL /bazaar toons are bots and are intended to be played AFK (even OFFLINE!).

Quit accusing people of doing things that a) you can't know they are doing and b) DBG doesn't believe are wrong and doesn't punish players for. It sounds to me like you are the one who wants DBG to come and regulate commerce in YOUR favor.
