I have grow increasingly tired of the incompetence or just plain disregard of those in charge to make sure we have a game to play... not one in which we have to fix on our own in order to play or in the case of resetting the UI's totally screwing many people who arent computer people... im not sure where you learned business? but its not a good idea to give your clients broken crap and expect them to fix it... I have a window in the middle of my screen that is immovable... kinda hard to play with that crap... i have 16 toons on two accounts and its gonna take me days to redo all the UI's if i even get it right then.... you wonder why the population is decreasing and you dont get much new blood... well look in the mirror you got nobody to blame when you have no company and no job because your lazy or incompetent or both... glad ive wasted 25 yrs on a game where they no longer give a crap about the customers.. for too long i hear working as intended...do a raid get no credit or coin and well just do it again... shouldnt be happening in the first place let alone that kinda response... you spent a year telling our guild the guild banner wasnt broke only to later say yea you were right sorry, dont mean alot when you continue to do the same crap.. I'd like to hear from others about their bs... hope you learn something before its too late...

when you log in each character, click options, general tab, copy Layout. this should set your windows back where they were.

ill try that still shouldnt be my job.. i reset the ui on one of my toons to default and i could again move windows and even the options window.. but it wont enlarge no matter where i put the cursor so i only see half that window.. things like that... it just gets old

thanks bum worked nicely even that toons options window was fubared like the other but at least i could do what you said and that fixed everything.... maybe include those instructions in the patch notes EQ thanks again bum... huge help man if it werent for the people in this game id have quit long ago

niente replied to the thread Duplicate Horrible patch destroyed my UI.

Please use the /copylayout command to reload your character's UI and this should resolve the issue until we can provide a fix.

The bug was reported on test prior to the patch.

No apology.

No signal that they're making changes to prevent these sorts of failures in the future.

Deleting comments critical of them.

No respect for their customers.

I think that there is something fundamentally wrong with Darkpaw's test environment: Hardware, OS, drivers. Because nearly every patch in the last 16 months was a catastrophe for the UI. Are you testing on Mac OS probably, because everything seems to work there ??

I'm glad that worked for you. resetting windows for 16 toons would have been a daunting task

In order to do that, don't you have to manually fix one first? Asking for a friend, as fortunately all of my interfaces are still good.

I just wish the Dev staff would get the resources they need.

Every time I try to switch to full screen i get reset device failure and crash. I don't want to play in window mode, never have, never will. Hell, the only display options I get in full screen are 640xwhatever or 800x600. I'm not playing on a Tandy 1500 FFS.

If you've logged a toon in and out a few times since the patch, yeah...your saved layout for that toon may be borked.

But, if you're logging in a toon for the first time since the patch and everything is screwed up, the UI layout you had saved is still there. Just use the /copylayout command, before you zone or camp, and select that toon's UI. It'll put like 95% of the UI back to what you had, but I had a few windows (guild window, Overseer, AA window) that were moved off to one side of the screen and had just barely enough showing to grab and move back to their old position. And your bag positions will probably be totally fubar...mine were.
