i dont care what product you sell it can be anything. if you promised more then 5000 - 6000 people widget sales and ran out. you make more widgets .... if you run out of room on a server you make another one .... this is ridiculous. the PR of this after coaxing so many old players back to the game is only going to hurt eq even more in the near future .... i didnt pay 15$ to stare at a server select screen and post on a bloody forum

I expect the "Anti-Trolls" here any minute.

I, for one, agree with you.

    It's become an absolute farce.

They obviously have no clue how to resolve this. There is no word on compensation.

    It's a total clusterfudge.

I'm in the same boat. Returning player and can't even play. No queue system on the server, just kick every few seconds. Someone else could come along and click once and get in depending on how lucky they are.

At least with a queue system you can see where you are and go do something for 5 minutes know you won't loose your place in the queue.

Looks like it is going to be a short returning stay at this rate.

Lets get some more fun analogies going please.

Well at least we can agree you're a troll.

Anti-troll reporting in. Pop limit will increase, classic will last 6 months, every other TLP had a shaky launch, patience is a virtue, devs are working as hard as they can, etc.

You paid $15 to experience the launch of a title that is having some launch-related issues. Don't over think it or buy into the negativity.
  8. deathdodge Journeyman

How is that any sort of justification? If every other TLP server had terrible launches (I remember them all being just as bad) THEN IT SHOULDNT HAVE HAPPENED AGAIN, why are you defending incompetence?

That, or WoW developers can create servers to handle the load of millions, not a few thousand. These population issues were entirely obvious.

Why are we here complaining? Because we are tired of clicking to try to access the server. Boredom, with long bouts of irritation. Entirely deserved criticism at infinite length.

How can they reduce this? They could provide access so people can actually go play, and be positive. This isn't happening, although, as you say, we did provide our $15 which is our end of the bargain.

The other end is what's failing, repeatedly, and really they have no reason at all not to have been ready for this event.

They are caught with their pants down.

Signing in . . . this is horrid. Second server is clearly needed.

I guess the question is how can you be caught with your pants down when the only way to enter the server is with DBG's permission (the selling to you of a sub).

They sold more capacity than what they have available, and that's actually fraud. They sold 'product' that they don't have, because maybe some of you will leave in the next few weeks.
  13. Sarticus Journeyman

Doesn't blizzard pull in quite a bit more money with millions of people who actually play the game still? Which means they can afford a staff for people to upkeep servers?

Just curious, I didn't quite understand why WoW is being compared to EQ. I may be wrong, but I feel that a company that makes the kind of money blizzard does, and pulls in the amount of players it does can afford to have servers that will hold millions of players.
  14. magikarp Augur

You can say they didn't provide their end, you can call it fraud, but actually there's thing handy thing called an End-User License Agreement which you put your name on and that's that.

If they want to provide compensation it would be totally up to them. It's likely the people reading your forum posts and trying to come up with solutions don't have any power to do so. Most of the time money-matters aren't handled by coders.

    Use your heads people.

So, you say do nothing. What a farce. Who are you? Smedley himself?

Oooo ahhh, you stand up for the crooks of society. What a hero.
  17. magikarp Augur

Aye that kind of decision has to come from higher up and logic would suggest it costs 2x money to produce a second server. Its basically completely out of the budget and unrealistic.

All that said, there might be some trickle down of Daybreak bux for players when the dust clears... not that anyone's gonna be any happier when everyone finally gets in and every zone in the game is overcamped .

The saga of Ragefire is just beginning!

  19. magikarp Augur

Nothing, no? We can chat about it, if you like.

I'm not sure what you're suggesting, a boycott? Might help others get in not a bad idea imo
  20. deathdodge Journeyman

its a comparison because WoW learned from EQs mistakes, and built on their own mistakes as well. Even when EQ had more money they did with it, which is why theres this constant rabbit holing of issues.
