So just so Im 100% clear here..

The Hero's Forge Armor Feature is 1200 SC.

This absolutely BONKERS item is ... 19900 SC.

Its LITERALLY the Hero Forge Feature and a Plate Armor set. (Dont even get me started how DBG is ripping people off making them buy multiples of the same set for what is the EXACT same armor skin.)


So... the armor set costs more than the collectors editions of the last 3 expansions combined!!???

Because its a symbol, much like driving a lamborgini etc. And the players did it to themselves.

The History of that set is quite unique. Years ago the only way you could get it was to rack up enough Recruit a Friend points from the 2013 Recruit-a-Friend program

When Recruit a Friend was discontinued then so was this set. There was no way to get it.

After years and years of players promising to pay ANYTHING if it was brought back....it was brought back at the price you see. After all, players said they would pay anything!!!. And will once or twice a year, maybe, show up for sale.

So if you wish to show off your status then buy one, if not "shrug"

Just be glad there's people willing to go to that length to pay for something few people have in support of the game.

I see it as more of a support to the game. Its not really worth that. The set is just a color reskin of the insidious armor set. its for the prestige of having it and pretty much a show of support to the game.

So you could buy 2 sets with just the built up free monthly DBC.

This is because there are whales out there that have a ton of disposable income or a ton of Daybreak cash they've been accumulating for years. Daybreak is also trying to fund EQ3 so I wouldn't be surprised if we see more sets at this price in the future.

If only it were tradeable....

How can an offer be a ripoff ? You don't have to accept it. Most of the marketplace is on my ignore list anyways.

I got my golden hero forge when they were selling it with a golden satchel. I chose this over having a lifetime subscription LOL. Golden looks cool on my ranger but now i just wear glacial frost now. People would say how the golden looked pretty cool though.

old news is old and this topic gets made every year when they bring this set out of the vault as if no one has ever seen it before. The golden armor set was the reward for meeting a certain quota in the old refer-a-friend program. I don't remember all the details of RAF but essentially $200 was the price point that would have needed to be spent for someone to earn the golden armor set. Some people just opened up extra accounts and subbed them up to get the armor, so it basically became a $200 item that some people were willing to spend. RAF went away, but there's no reason the armor set shouldn't still be attainable. The price point of $200 represents the original effort to earn it.

Or just call it an idiot tax, w/e. Someone will make this same thread next year and we'll all get to be outraged all over again.

Taste and fashion does change often, but "lifelong" membership will last "forever". Are EQ3 lifelong memberships already on sale ?
