Did I miss where it said what you did to the blocked buff and blocked pet buff windows?

Why would you not also add commas to Inventory Window, Quantity Window, etc?
  3. Meeko Developer(Code)

The buff slots in those windows where converted to be templates instead of defined individually.

There are lots of windows that would benefit from having commas added to numbers on them. They each have to be done individually and this month there was time to do the ones listed in the notes. Eventually the goal is for all of them to be updated, but alas there are only so many hours in the day.

Is the new UI engine still in development?

Seems strange to be having super small "polishes" to suite if gameface is still being worked on.

You are aware of how modern games work? There is no "100% done and released perfect" situation. Thats not daybreak, thats all software world wide. The nice thing is they can always tweak things and make them better.
To note, the new interface would probably be better along if they no longer had to support the old interface. However many would lose thier marbles if they were forced to change anything. Nothing scares eq players more than change. Its terrifying!

When was the last dev. comment concerning progress on the new UI? Will it be complete by the end of the year? Next year? No attempt at sarcasm here, BTW.

The problem is that this 'new UI' will completely break every single custom UI with no knowing if they could ever be fixed or how long it would take.

People still use Custom UI? I used to but last time I visit the site I used it had gone dead. with maybe 2 or 3 ui still being keep going.

There are plenty that are still being kept current and part of this new change is to make UI's easier to maintain and update.

More then that get updated each expansion and have been updated for the extra buff slots we got earlier this year. If a UI is well built not every ui change will cause a need to update it.

Is there a new anniversary tower floor and equipment? I don't see it in the notes.
  12. Angahran Augur

And this 'new ui' requires rebuilding every part of the ui from basically scratch.
Maybe once UIs are rebuilt for this new ui it's possible they will be easier to maintain going forward, but I'm not holding out much hope of that being true.

This sisn't a simple UI change.
Think of it like this, every single UI is currently written in english.
The new UI requires them to be written in chinese.
  14. Waring_McMarrin Augur

Isn't that pretty much expected when changing from a decades old UI system based on xml files to a more modern one based on html and css? I don't see this as a problem as it is going to allow for more flexibility and ease of creation/maintenance in the long run.
  15. Waring_McMarrin Augur

I would consider a switch from xml to html/css to be more like moving from another language to English as html is a much better language for writing a UI in then xml is.
  16. Angahran Augur

Sure, anything is easy when you're not the one doing it.

    EQInterface is still fairly active.
  18. Waring_McMarrin Augur

There is a reason why most web development uses html instead of xml and the fact that UI's and being able to customize them have evolved a lot since the current UI system that EQ uses was introduced.

No one is trying to claim that it is going to be super simple or quick to make the switch to the new system, just that it is going to allow for more flexibility and ease of maintenance once the switchover is done. They are making this change with a long term goal in mind and not just looking at the work it will be to make the initial switchover.

It will never get done if no one is working on it, we have seen nothing happening with it for months. Really don't understand why they added broken elements to tthe game and have done nothing with them since.

Nothing I have said makes any comment on how many people are working on it or how fast it is going to get done. They likely didn't see the issues on the test hardware that they use which is why they added an option to revert to the old UI and not use any of the new pieces.
