Teek krono prices rising rapidly?

EVERY ECONOMICAL ISSUE has a yin and a yang. REGARDLESS of where the economy exist.

Some people seem to equate all people buying and selling as a lord doing so to turn it into RMT....lol

Plat vs krono values are created by the amount of PLATINUM on the server...

The more plat on the server the higher the price of a krono.

More or less I agree with you, but there is more to it than that. There were people on oakwynd who used to spam sell extremely cheap krono then log off without selling - they were doing this to try to manipulate tlp auction site to be cheaper or give the illusion krono is cheaper than it is.

I've made 12 krono just from selling the trash to vendors and select items to players. I don't "play" the market, I simply sell to free up inventory slots. Whenever my platinum values exceeds the current selling price of a krono, I buy a krono even if it leaves me with just a few plat in my pocket.

normal krono normally cap out around 5/6k in classic era. Kunark is going to push 10k - not much inflation for Velious - very minor then Luclin is a big boom and PoP another boom - around 20 to 25k typically if no exploits.

With a Kunark opening it makes sense that it is blowing through the 4 to 7k range. probably taper off and end up around 10k by end of expac. with a server with more players then any other server before i would venture it will be a bit higher since more mobs are being killed then ever before thus more plat in the economy.

Again, I believe you're wrong. So, I'll explain.

The true whale krono lords with 1,000+ kronos run 40-50+ box toons with software on live servers and get their krono in droves by doing entire raids for people. But, believe what you want.

For those in the 100's your argument is somewhat valid, but I would turn to what I saw on servers which a good friend of mine was selling Mage Epics, and sold about 20 of them for 20-30 krono a pop. So, the piddly 1-3 krono stuff your talking about is not really in the equation of the big dogs.

See, this man gets it. This is exactly what you should be doing.

    See, this I agree with.

So your friend got those krono by farming items, and selling them for kr correct? Higher krono prices means he makes less krono, so it's in his best interest for krono to be cheap. I'd say people who farm kr on live and don't farm it on tlp as well are in the minority, as they'd also be doing things like farming phiny and it's in their best interest for krono to be cheap. Anyone level 60 will have at least 10k plat without farming or trying if they don't buy krono. Either way the "big dogs" won't try to drive prices up. They might try to drive them down, that's it. But krono is also going to do what it's going to do and I think people underestimate just how expensive krono will get by end of expansion.

Btw, epic items are about to massively crash in value so his farm is about done on this server.

Oh he did that back on Aradune, not here. He just a baby monk atm on Teek. xD

Told u teek would be Krono Lord Land

OMG people on a free trade server are participating in the economy, including the buying and selling of Krono! Who could have predicted such a thing!

This doesnt work like that, the TLP auctions site has safeguards put into place to prevent manipulation like this. Is it 100% guaranteed, no. But you wont see huge fluctuations from people lying about the cost. Also if someone is spamming WTB Krono 10k, but never buying.. the people who see that and start to spam WTS krono for 10k wont get anyone buying their krono. People who are selling krono are doing so because theres something they need to buy / do that costs pp. They arent going to wait forever, they will slowly lower their price until someone buys. Same thing with people who are ACTUALLY buying. When i buy i start out 1k less than what krono go for and slowly increase over time if noone sells. The longer you hold onto your platinum the less value it has, since krono will constantly increase.
  13. Rothj Augur

I know there's safeguards now, those safeguards are there because people were trying to drive the cost DOWN through manipulation. they never force it up.
  14. Gnothappening Augur

We are at a stage where there is enough plat that people are buying and reselling. Buy low. Sell high. That always drives up prices.

A normal SoL launch should be 20-30k plat for a krono.
  15. Soriano Augur

On Oakwynd the safeguards either did not exist or were not effective.

People creating a new character to /auction krono for really low prices then log out went on until November 9th when Luclin launched. and the auction sites always had krono averaging well below what they were actually selling for.

At SoL launch they were just over 60k on Oakwynd and a week later they were 2 million until the dust settled and they came down to around 700k.

Right now on Oakwynd krono on barter is 1 million plat each and sellers in bazaar have them for 1.3 million plat.

That is how bad the economy of Oakwynd is.

The amount platinum on the server is what drives these values.

Does not matter how many people are farming item camps....it is only the people adding platinum to the server that raise the price of krono, be it through tradeskill depot exploit, farming Hill Giants for hours on in. Generating it from anniversay quest (recently fixed). selling diamonds, blue diamonds, black sapphires also add to the servers platinum base.

Getting items from other players does not increase the plat on the server. That only moves the existing plat around.
  16. Elabone Augur

What does any of that have to do with the conversation were having? We all know why oakwynds economy is garbage, and it wasnt because people were auctioning to buy krono for lower than they sell for.
  17. Soriano Augur

Oakwynd's economy is broken due to the influx of plat.

I quoted you for the comment "TLP Auction sites have put in safe guards"...They did not seem to exist for Oakwynd...Can not speak to Teek or Tormax as not on either.

And the thread is about rising cost of krono, my post you seem upset over explains the cost of krono is tied to the amount of platinum on the server...The dynamics of how much a krono cost on a server only cares about the amount of platinum on the server....when there is little platinum krono are cheap, when the exploit hits (and there always seems to be one) krono will go up rapidly.

Until there is an exploit krono will rise much faster on Teek due to the number of players who are all adding to the platinum on the server...cheap krono will be on Tormax. if the Krono Lords were just after cheap krono they would be on Tormax.

Eh I know quite a few folks that I'm friends with had been farming it off cooldown with their 6 box crews for 3600 plat a pop. That's not a negligible amount this early in a server.
  19. Magneress Augur

You mean like boxing 8 picks of sola? That's definitely participating in the economy.

It's not too late to get established on Tormax bro :)

Which is no different than Hill Giants, who have been there forever. The people who knew about tower plat pretty much all know each other already, and were/are a very small segment of the playerbase. I'd estimate that 95% of the playerbase on Teek has yet to visit the tower; most of those still don't know it even exists. The Tormax pop is low enough that nobody on that server has thought to post a complaint. It was less than a week after the Teek posts first appeared on here that they patched it out.
