[Teek] Extreme Lag, 4-5 minute zone times, Raid Window barely useable Sunday & Monday Nights

Discussion in 'Time Locked Progression Servers' started by Galach99, Jul 7, 2024.

Hello DPG, there seems to an issue server wide specifically on Sunday & Monday nights starting at around 5:30 pm PST when there is normally a server queue. The result is extreme zone time lag (4-5 minutes on average) on top of raid window invites and moving groups taking several minutes to process.

    I blame the AoE PLers.

I just thought it was faceless raid night

Edit - I had to go look it actually is haha

Yea, server strain on cascading instances is a REAL thing. Likely other things strain them too, but devs have stated before that DZs spinning up are high server impact. (Not that logically they should be but that's what they have said)

It is. I'm not sure how spawning 7 DZ's will cause this to happen as people are spawning DZ's all the time across the server.

It might be the combination of the server being full and then spawning the DZ's. Either way, DPG needs to do something as this not only effects Faceless but the entire server during that period.

It's absolutely a combination of things, but other guild's also raid those times (As well as many raid on Friday, another time when hiccups are notorious) - it's just that when Faceless splits into 7 DZs they are effectively 7 guilds raiding all at identical times when it comes to how the server "takes it".

Also since they tend to do clears in a AE PLer style rather than small controlled pulls, if such actions cause server strain like some have speculated (And I'd tend to believe it, I remember shaker-paging when it existed crashing Plane of Fire at times, among other instances of past adjacent things) - it would be a bit ongoing rather than isolated to just spin-up time.

    Hi this dev support.

We don't care. Thanks, and have you bought an iksar plushy for 29.99?

Lag comes and goes. Just like the players.

Would be nice to see less lag, though.

If Faceless would just stop raiding, the lag would stop. :)

To many gnomes and halflings in raids. They are so small that it takes more processing power to keep track of them!

The only real solution for when the lag gets that bad is to crash the server and force a reboot. And for that we need more picks and more DZs.

Raid window works fine for me

I wish guilds still competed. I thought for sure this anniversary server would be focused on the best of the best. Like titles and stuff for server firsts with guilds capped at a certain number. Toxic ppl versus Zerg ppl isn’t a fun competition. Why would you want to be in a guild that’s the size of 4-5 guilds!?

Mostly cause they efficiently clear mobs and will still be around on the server a year from now.
  15. Demetri Augur

And the year after that? Ooops...

Minimizing turnover is more key than over-recruiting.

Thanks for posting this. The lag on Teek is pretty bad at peak times. There are still queues to log on. Chat lag, mail lag, latency.

As they say in JP, FV is best girl.

There is and will be competition on Teek. You can volunteer to do all the clerical work it takes to make a site like that. I'm sure people would comply.

TBH, I think the lag is because the overflow server has different rules and isn't very popular.

Well you know why OP, on a true box server...... It is apparently allowed.
