Soon you wont be able to buy anything of value with pp, only Krono. Or you will have to buy krono with real money and sell it for pp. The amount of pp you earn from non-exploits will be trivialized and not enough to participate in trading.

Make a Mage persona and get it to level 2. The pet can solo the quest because its level 5.

If they just added an expansion requirement of, say LDON, it would have no effect on Live since all the expansions are unlocked there.

That isn't correct, the new floor won't be available until after the June patch as it is the monthly patch that enables the new floor for each month.

Just make it so the gear cannot be worn till LDoN releases.

People farmed the quest on lvl 1s, made plat then used said plat to buy krono.

Sadly many abused this and it will heavily inflate krono value, this is a problem for those who didn't abuse the tower rewards apparently.

The tactics for exploiting the mechanic were not obvious to most non tryhards. And even if they were, the fact that everyone can participate it doesn't make it less of an exploit. It still ruins the experience when your choices are a) play the game like normal and get left behind b) spend all your time farming exploits in order to be able to participate in the economy.

One of the great things about EQ compared to other MMOs is that it's designed to be social and collaborative instead of mostly soloable.

Or just accept that the 25th anniversary year of darkpaw content is going to be on the 25th anniversary TLP servers.

You can still do all of that, nothing is stopping you from doing both of those if you want to cheez the tower content.

It's ironic how the people accusing others of being krono farmers are complaining about the price of krono. Hint - you don't need krono to play the game.

Why would it be a problem? More plat in the economy means their krono will sell for more. All of their items will sell for more. Participating in the economy will make them enough money to keep up, even if they don't farm the tower themselves.

No one is going to be forced to buy krono with money to play and enjoy the game, unless you are a victim of FOMO and that's on you. You can still camp everything you want yourself. It's not the end of the world.

EverQuest has soooo many players who think they should force everyone to play the way they imagined. This is what the devs made, we are going to play it. Shut the **** up with your crying and go play cataclysm classic if you want to lord your parses over other people
