Teek and Anniversary Tower - a Lose/Lose?

Velious/Seru gear will hold water. No level requirement. Persona gear.

It's such an absurd oversight that this stuff is in the game. They don't have focus effects turned on, but then leave out of era items that are basically best in slot through luclin? Where's the consistency at all?

This stuff is going to ruin the economy. It makes typically coveted group and raid drops worthless. And a lot of the fun of a server like Mischief/Teek is the economy . Please scale them down or make them unequippable until PoP or just remove them from the server STAT. It makes no sense to have them here

It's not out of era, it's exactly in era. Year of DarkPaw era. It's strong but doesn't make you immortal or allow you to solo raid mobs. Sorry you can't sell some items from the first couple expansions for as much but forcing them to waste time changing the event or items because other drops don't sell as well is not a good reason.

They intentionally took out defiant armor because it would be extremely overpowered/make classic early expansion loot obsolete. Why would they leave this in? It's the same thing.

The server's very clearly supposed to be in Kunark era right now. Not "Year of DarkPaw era"
Also lol "making you immortal or allowing you to solo raid mobs" is the line?

While Vaniki was probably the most fun I've had playing eq in years, being literally immortal and soloing raid mobs on a fresh tlp would probably get boring pretty quick. So yeah, that's the line, a few hundred extra hp/mana certainly is not.

People come to the forums / discord pretty frequently asking for the Devs to make a "tlp expansion" or new content for tlps. Wisely they don't make tlp only content, the gear would either be worse than "in era" and no one would do it, or we'd be right back here whining it's better than "in era". They decided to allow everyone to celebrate the 25th Anni with tower gear for every level range.

There's a huge difference between making a new raid or new zones and just putting in an "anniversary tower" that hands out better gear than veeshan's peak. What are you even talking about? If this was a brand new mmo everyone would make fun of something like an anniversary tower handing out the best gear in the game because it's lame. The reason we even play mmos is the cool fantasy aspect, not whatever this is.

The people saying it's not a big deal are the ones either trying to sell it or the ones in a guild that are using it too push content. Having +5hp+Roman Regen is insane in Kunark. Not to mention those 4-5 items together have more Hps/AC then 2 sets of Kunark raid armor. They like to gaslight people, can't have too many voices that DB messed up. They don't want there "exploit" taking away from profits...

Yeah no kidding, especially when the argument to remove them a couple posts up was because it was bad for the economy and the poster couldn't sell their in era raid and group drops for as much.

This stuff is incredibly broken. So every time an item drops from a raid mob in Kunark, Velious (with a few exceptions), and in Luclin (some VT exceptions) it's completely useless if it's one of the anniversary tower item slots? That's just stupid. Please remove them.

Yep. And it will be all non visible slots by the end of the year. And at 65 the next ones will open up, so they never really phase out. At 125 the stuff is comparable to the best group stuff. I know on Oakwynd it was BiS.

Having a bunch of gear that's better than Vex Thal gear is a gift to every raiding guild.

The tower is slated to disappear in January so the gear will phase itself out by then.

There is no other option. If you think for a moment this was an accident, you're clueless to how the current dev team has been evolving the game. The stats are not insane for pieces with level 55 required. Hint: not everyone on the server races to level cap the first week. Most of the complaining about this is coming from people whose RMT plans were affected, which I'm sure was part and parcel of dev's intent. The anniversary event will be 12 monthly rewards in total, and then it all goes away. We don't even know for sure that all the rewards will be gear. As has already been noted by others, none of this will matter come PoP, as those raid drops will be just as valuable as they always were.

For comparison, Intricate Defiant drops globally in TSS, with non-visibles as rewards from Teek (!) quests, and those have better stats than these anniversary pieces, with only level 48 required. That gear hasn't been a problem on any prior TLP, including Mischief.

What we have not been informed of, is will the tower gear be available to buy a year from now when characters have more levels and can purchase better items or is the Tower going to vanish forever with the January patch, also will left over Timeless coins be usable elsewhere.

Should have made all the tower quests doable now, but cannot equip any of the gear till LDoN, pretty sure this was stated long before Teek was launched.

This would be best for everyone.

An incredibly stupid decision to have these items at a TLP launch

Maybe raise the req lvl on the armor to 61. I already got the items but I would gladly bank them

The idea is really good, but the rewards are too strong for the era

Another option is to make these items and their currency no-drop.

While it doesn’t solve the mudlfation situation… it keeps krono sales for them out of the equation.
