Teek and Anniversary Tower - a Lose/Lose?

Things with a degree of randomness to acquiring them compared to a sure thing isn't as similar as you're trying to imply.

Yes, they're both EASIER - but two they're drastically different versions of being EASIER.

I've stopped saying anything negative about them, haven't I? I think it would've been better if they'd have skipped on them for Teek/Tormax in some form, but that bell has long since been rung.

Perhaps they might consider reigning in (or L61'ing) the final half of the rewards, but TBD - I'm not intentionally kneecapping myself by skipping them, and don't recommend anyone else does.

This is pretty much where I'm at... I'm still playing while krono is cheap and the server is still fun, but I might dip once elden ring dlc comes out. They're in the game so you have to use them now.

You bring up a good point about Vaniki gear, where are the posts crying for a nerf to the Ashen Apple Juice and Frightening Flat Bread? Guess since MTP and Kaladim Consts don't sell for krono so the fact that food/drink is invalidated for multiple expansions doesn't matter.

Skipping the 25th anniversary events on the 25th anniversary TLP servers seems a bit strange.

This stuff hasn't made much of a difference for me and my buddies cuz we are only grouping with each other and only using what we find. No buying from EC. Its actually been a lot more fun that way. Upgrades are actually exciting. Not sure why they'd add that insane gear, it kind of kills the fun/flow of being a new tlp and getting gear that was actually in era.

Oh no, only 75% of your slots will be kunark trash rather than all 100%. By the time Luclin hits most, if not all, of the tower items will be outclassed because of focus effects. Shoulders? Any class that buffs will most likely want Coldain shoulders anyways. That mod is as good as the BIS focus in Plane of Time which just so happens to be...shoulders. /insert shockedpikachu.gif.

People arguing over a measly few points of mana regen really didn't do the math behind the power creep (or lack thereof) giving players a couple more points of mana regen. 1 more mana regen is literally 1,000 mana an HOUR. That equates to roughly 1 dps increase for classes like a wizard going full tilt in an era where 1 mana regen will give you the most bang for the buck (Kunark). The deeper you get the last valuable it is.

So much wrong here it's unbelievable. For a bunch of rerollers you'd at least think you (pl) would actually know about the itemization in the expansions you've done over and over for years.

BIS beneficial mana reduction in POP for priest classes is a face (or a neck if you're a cleric). Last I checked a face isn't a visible slot.

Any class with dots not named a necro will have exactly one item from Time with BIS dot damage mod which is a range item.

Mage, Wiz, and Ranger chest mod only affects fire spells if you need to use any other nuke, guess where your mod comes from? A range item. It just so happens to be the BIS item for all druid nukes.

BIS heal mod for non-clerics/paladins? Shoulders or shield.

It's "literally" 600/hr... only 10 ticks a minute, 60 mins in an hour - not sure what part of the planet you're on that has 100 minute hours to make 1000/hr work out.

And you do realize hot swapping gear IS a thing for people that are good players, right? Especially for stuff like shawl where *gasp* most buffs you don't cast very often like would occur with shawl (for an extra 5% duration... when AA push it by 50%+ in the same xpac). And nevermind that we've not seen the full tower spread yet - right now they're doing Type 7/8's with stats only, how much you want to bet they're going to add focus ones after they're done the stats?

There's not going to be many options for Type 7/8's to continue after they do the 7 stats unless they dip into some focii, type 2's, haste, etc.

So one of your main complaints is gear to acquire outside tower is random and your evidence is a link showing a vast majority of the options being non vis is evidence...that youll 100% have all focus effects from vis slots? LOL Talk about eating your cake and wanting it as well.

Lets casually ignore the pre luclin items scattered on that link that you can bank on velious and swap to on Luclin DAY 1 without needing your randomness to go your way within 7 to 8 weeks of raiding Luclin.

You were talking BEST options in what I was responding to, troll. Best options are overwhelmingly visible slots.

Sure you can easily ignore the best and get them on the tower slots, including some older items but that wasn't your previous claim.

And from my knowledge EQitems has only existed since Lockjaw and Ragefire, it has never been a 2003 thing to my knowledge. I'd check the registration date to confirm my suspicion but inconvenient to do on mobile.

And you of course decline to answer that they quite likely will have focii or similar in future aug versions for the tower, as they keep expanding it monthly and current trend they've followed has a finite limit far shorter than 12.

BIS fire damage focus is a non visible. That's the single most powerful spell DPS modifier in the game for Wizards, Mages, Druids, and Rangers. 2nd best fire? Also a non visible item.

BIS magic is a visible slot (magic usually is pretty terrible. BIS cold is a non visible slot.

BIS DOT damage mod? A primary/secondary. Is that considered "visible" for you? When I say visible I say the 8 primary armor slots, not wep/shield/range. 2nd best? A belt which is a non visible and can be farmed in classic and used day 1 of Luclin.

So the two heaviest hitting mods in game for DPS classes are not coming from Visible armor. Interesting. Let's move on.

BIS heal focus is a visible normally from AHR. However, you can can a mod that is only 3% less than max of BIS as early as Kunark (Shroud of Veeshan) or Velious (mask from TOV) and have it ready to go Day 1 and not even bother worrying about legs. An average of 10.5% increased healing isn't going to be much different than 12%. And you sure as heck would rather have 10%+ boost to healing over 70 hme. Also, if you read further down you'll notice your first dilemma.

BIS mana pres for beneficial spells is going to be a non vis for classes who benefit most for it (priest types).

BIS mana pres for detrimental is going to be vis for most classes, but there are plenty of good options for non vis if you can't acquire the singular BIS.

BIS beneficial spell haste are vis (legs) which you literally cannot use if you want the legs heal focus BIS so guess what? Non vis it is! And you can even farm it in Kunark! YAY day one focus items!

Should I go on to POP where you start to run into even more conflicts where you need to start picking and choosing item slots? All of which will easily outclass Tower gear?

The tower is scheduled to be removed from the game with the January 2025 patch and is only producing new content for the year of 2024. Once that happens people will need to get gear from the expansions only and tower will no longer be an option.

It may return for the anniversary window in the future but it will still be limited to those 12 items.

And most people are casually ignoring that tower gear will only be BIS or close to BIS for at the very longest December of this year (POP Launch). People on this board are literally crying about 7 months of a server scheduled to be up until the very least 2030 (if EQ is out that long). So basically 7 months of out 80 AKA a whopping 8.75% of the server's schedule lifetime. The main problem is the people complaining are mostly compromised of people who will be off the server by May of 2025. That's not a DPG problem...that's a player's choice problem.

And players aren't even required to wear the gear. Some extra h/m/e is barely noticeable in terms of power creep. It really highlights of lack of understanding people have with EQ itemization if they think 200-400 extra h/m/e is a major boost for a 12-18 weeks. Even the hailed mana regen barely does anything. I've went plenty of expansions in EQ willingly choosing inferior item choices because I simply preferred what I had for various reasons (looks, name, lore, etc). The difference was never really noticeable.

They are talking about the level 65 gear that will be unlocked on TLP in December.

No they're not. All tower gear automatically scales to the player's current level. There aren't any level 65 pieces on Teek yet because there are no level 65 players, and there won't be until PoP unlocks, in December. Level 65 pieces have already dropped on other TLPs. Their stats aren't nearly as inflated as the Teek naysayers (who don't actually have any) are claiming they will be. Nobody on any other TLP is complaining about this, only a very small group of badly-misinformed peope on Teek, most of whom just happen to be in the Krono market.

You can look up the level 65 sets. They aren't as good as Time, let alone anything from GOD.
