I completely understand the low tolerance. TLP players are very whiny for a player base that plays 10-15% of the game, for about 30% of the year. They constantly overestimate their own value and ideas. They, on average, have very little understand about game systems and suggest things that are just awe-inspiringly dumb. That's not to say these things don't happen in Vet's Lounge, but its less common. Regarding the guild posts, it was absolutely needed. The Live guild posts happen at a MUCH slower velocity. The primary reason for this is that if you want to succeed as a TLP guild, the ONLY thing that matters is having people that can fog a mirror. You have 30 monks? Doesnt matter, get 5 more because next month 5+ will quit. TLP guilds live and die by their recruitment. Live guilds sorta have to be different because you can't really have 12 monks and 10 SKs, especially cuz monks are the worst melee dps lol
Not to mention most of them came from the P99 cult. While many EQ players (veterans) stayed loyal to the game and kept the EQ studio afloat with their patronage, the majority of the TLP crowd ran off to WoW and then later to 3rd party servers which at one point were illegal. Then they try to come back after the devs make something that appeals to them, and try to dictate how things should work from here on out. Like...gtfoh.
Official progression servers pre-date p99 by 3 years and p99 was never as big as people make it out to be, the percentage is probably not that large. Also, there were 7 years of EQ before progression servers. There has been 16 years of EQ with progression servers.
EQ, I play a silver account for live but mainly play all TLPs to the end of OoW. Yet, you expect people to enjoy every expansion or keep on with it, why? They can repeat the content they enjoy as a different class the next round of TLP's. Maybe just maybe they should take survey's, invest in QA, and continue to improve upon their model.
And just like that Accendo has elevated himself to Forum God, it only took like 10 years for this to finally happen lol.
