Soloing Beastlord

Is it possible to solo a beastlord to 100+? I plan on doing the hero's journey quest as far as i can but then after that i'm not to sure. seems like i should be able to do HoT solo which might take to me 95ish? I'm also aware that bst arent tanks so gear dependant and pet dependant.

Any ideas on what to look out for and what to do to make this easier?

in theory you can get all classes to lvl 100+, the question is how much time do you want to invest.

beastlord is a very good solo class later in game, especially when you get you pet stances to help with tanking, but we start out pretty weak as a solo class ( neither pet nor you can tank well at first ).
apart from that, it will be slow and painful for sure.

what would make it easier ? use a merc, box some chars, join a guild and get some help? stuff like that.

Shaman / monk hybrid without many drawbacks from both classes beside healing spells and single pulling. The character (not the warder) does tank nearly as good as the monk and can cast most spells that the shaman can cast, just at a weaker tier (receiving the spell later). At about lvl 80 the warder does tank better than the character and does slowly mutate into a strong tank. Until that level just bring a healer merc. After that point it can be more experience efficient to heal the warder as the main tank by yourself or to use a melee damage merc (rogue).

You can add boxes for better pulling, better mana regen, and to get more powerfull but that is optional. Above level 80 the beastlord will be a tank, a damage dealer, and a halfway decent healer, mostly for it's warder. Only noticeable weakness is single pulling until it does receive feign death. The class is very mana hungry which is the price for it's strong damage spells.

Recommended boxes to add: Necro (damage, tank/offtank, mana pump, etc.) or bard (puller, overhaste, mana regen, mez, tracking, etc.) or even both. Further boxes have the benefit of granting you another merc.

Wizard instead of the necro could be also interesting and has the travel / evac benefit. In that case you would better get an enchanter instead a bard. Problem here is single pulling until the beastlord does receive feign death, poor synergy and poor crowd control (only root), so adding an enchanter for three boxes would be recommended.

BST + healer merc until lvl ~80 / melee damage or healer merc above lvl ~80

BST + healer merc + NEC
BST + healer merc + BRD
BST + healer merc + NEC + BRD

BST + healer merc + WIZ (suboptimal)
BST + healer merc + WIZ + ENC
