Sliding On Mounts While In Combat

Has this ever been looked into? When not in combat, mounts stop moving as soon as you let go of the key on your keyboard. However, when in combat your character continues to move when you let go of the key. Your character and mount slide around as if they were on ice. Can this please be looked into and correct? Yes, I know it has been this way for years but that doesnt mean that it is correct or working as intended.
