SK - dark temptation doesnt stack with Vampiric Embrace ?

Just got the spell Dark Temptation. Used it then later when I fought tried to use Vampiric Embrace spell ....wouldn't let me. I assume these two dont stack ...and if it is true, then would I be correct thinking that VE is a better choice?

They should stack, they do different effects, you may have had another buff on that was blocking dark temptation..

Thanks. I will have to do some investigation. I had DT up, and VE wouldn't fire. When I deleted DT, VE worked fine.

Double checked and VE gives slot 1 buff and DT gives 2 and 7, don't see any stacking conflicts there either. Try casting time in the opposite order, sometimes weird stuff like that can happen.

Could you explain that a little more. Would be helpful for buffs in general.

How many buffs can you have?

I am on a live server and yes, it does seem like it is 15 buffs. Didn't know there was a limit but now I do
