Should they bump up the kill count on merc quests?

    If the merc tasks gave xp...like they used to...I could see the kill count being much higher, like 20-30. But because there is no xp associated with them, other than the achievement xp you only get once, having to kill more than say half a dozen of something becomes tedious.

    Because some people are asshats. They've finished quest xyz but then feel the need to make it harder for those that have not done them.

    Since we know DPG love copy&paste so much, how about leaving the existing merc tasks as they are, but adding extra levels ? e.g. Master Mercenary of xyz... kill more of whatever mobs, get a better reward.

    Something to work on while mindlessly grinding out xp in whatever zone, or while working on Hunter of xyz.

    It's always nice to be able to work on multiple things at a time.

    They are actually asking to make it easier. Presently a lot of merc tasks are like camping named without the loot at the end. You kill trash and PH over and over until your merc task spawns. So your 5 kills may really be 50. OP is saying, rather than making it 5 random mobs, just make it 50 static mobs. That way, rather than in GD mines camping 1 PH for 3-4 hours hoping to get 1-2 dirvish PHes to spawn, I can just kill 50 miners.

    That's not more work, but it is less frustrating. Most importantly, it makes it easier to jump in for a lesson burn and leave, since you don't have to wait an extra 14 minutes to see if a dervish respawns before you log.

    So OP doesn't want to make it harder. OP is asking to remove the RNG from the mercs. It didn't work with Overseer collect rewards and it doesn't work great with these either.
