    yes.

There is another server around the corner, but it may not be a TLP server.

When Ragefire launched they had a vote to name the server and mentioned when they announced Ragefire was the winner that "Quarm" had also placed high, but they wanted to save the name for another server down the road.....

There has been some speculation that it may be a server perma locked at POP, but there is not official information on it at all.

The Dev's at the same time also mentioned they were really interested in doing seasonal servers, short term temporary servers with special rule sets ..

A lot of people quit after PoP, that's no secret. Maybe they are considering launching a PoP locked server once Phinny gets past PoP to retain those players who would otherwise quit.

That's quite some time in the future though, I can't imagine them launching another TLP within the next 6 months. So if you want to play I think phinny is the place to be, at least that's my opinion.

Actually it's a common misperception. Population on Fippy barely dropped at all as we moved from PoP to Gates, and what we did lose was as much due to 3 failed votes as anything.

Well hopefully that remains true because I personally enjoy GoD quite a bit ^.^

Indeed - fixed GoD is pretty damn amazing. I'm basically on autopilot until then. These early eras aren't much fun for the raid content to me.

Yeah, that's my theory as well. A PoP-locked server was a popular idea and is much-asked for; and the server name Quarm is reserved by SoE for an upcoming server. Seems to be highly coincidental...

Unfortunately, each time a new progression server opens, we lose a big chunk of the playerbase to the new server.
The existing servers are spread pretty thin as is, and by the sounds of it RF and LJ have seen quite the dramatic drop once Phin opened. Not sure what'll happen if/when Quarm opens.

People did not quit because POP was over.. mostly it was a combination of the 2+ year wait for another raiding expansion (with the meh expansions LoY and LDON in between) .. the fact GOD was way overtuned when launched and the launch of 3 big Fantasy MMO Titles all around the same time (Lineage 2 in Oct 2003, EQ2 and WoW in Nov. 2004).

Suddenly people did not have to put up with "Your in our World Now" and "Working as Intended" and had options . and they took them.

GoD, after it's fixes, retunes, and backflag changes, is arguably their best expansion. It had tons of issues when it was live no doubt, but I think people who haven't experienced it yet on a TLP server will find themselves enjoying it more than they will PoP. Yes the continent of Taelosia is somewhat alien, but it's got great progression, a great story, and it's got a ton of things to do.

PoP was a great, nostalgic-filled expansion. It's also an expansion with alot of content that is worthless once you hit EPs/PoTime, and the journey to EPs/Time is nothing like what people remember - tons of guilds will be beating PoTime in the first month. It also doesn't have alot of things to do except raiding PoTime & the usual AA grinds. I think people will be surprised at how fast it flies by now that we're not all noobs spending a year to hit EP's.

I'd agree with this completely if they redid the entire color palette for the expansion and made everything less monotone. Shades of brown gets old.

From what i have seen on phinny its just a mad dash for krono cash selling all the tradeable raid gear for 3+ krono. I havent seen a group on that server having gone there by myself without friends so the community aspect doesnt exist like it did in classic so from what i gather its just a way to make a quick buck for players and DBG... sucks i really wanted that classic feel again
  12. Aaramis Augur

All the progression servers are like this. Krono really alters things and makes this very much a Pay-2-Win game now, with the hardcore folk dominating loot drops, and the casuals having to buy anything that they want (such as epic MQs, etc.), furthering the cycle since they're now paying for the hardcore folk to play for free. Not sure if that was SOE's intent, but that's how it works currently.

Phinny, if anything, is better than the others due to instancing, although Krono is still a bit of an issue.

*edit* - really, "M Q" got edited to **? Bloody hell.

Hmmm i must be a lucky person didn't have to pay in krono yet and when we talk on clas channel i got a lot of gear similar to other people.Of course i didn't went to commons tunnel and ask a trader ok i want all the best gear what are you proposing.I just went killing mobs and took the loot that was dropping.

It's still there - it's just rather sparse until 30+

Yeah, push through that first little piece of hell and you'll find a guild / others that are probably very like minded.

after trying to find a guild for this last week as well as any group and every dungeon type zone i go to has someone either pl'ing or mass pulling with a high level character for the sole purpose of selling lewtz i think im going to pass on phinny... was a great idea but there are always too many wanting to ruin it for the rest
  18. Weverley Augur

I don't know where u went but i have yet to see what you just said.
