Shamans and Damage

For some reason shamans are the lowest damage class in game currently, even a cleric can do more damage then a shaman if the mob was to be undead. Is there any particular reason for this? Or are we just getting hit with the bad end of the stick?

Long-delayed dot revamp will shake this up quite a bit. Write your congressmandev a letter, pressure them to prioritize progress on that project.

You also cause more melee damage than almost anyone else out there with awesome buffs.

How much DPS do you think a shaman should do?
Are you talking group, raid or molo?

Molo DPS is very poor. Hopefully this is improved with the changes to DoTs. It would go against the current trend but maybe they could see small increases in AoE damage spells also.
