Shaman AA Ideas

    OK. So Elidroth is asking for a compiled list of ideas. Here's what has been suggested so far in this thread, broken out in to Utility/Healing, ADPS and DPS categories:

    Utility/Healing:
    Inconspicuous Totem 3 (invis on fade of buff and/or remove root after illusion wears off)
    Reduce Totem cooldown
    Upgraded Union of Spirits, possibly group version (no MGB)
    More ranks of hastened canni
    Combo invis/IVU (self only)
    Summon food/water/corpse
    More ranks of Ancestral Aid
    Second bind point
    Upgrade to AA slow that includes cripple debuff
    Hastened AA slow
    Hastened cripple
    Improved Spiritual Rebuke (remove DD component, reduce chance of feedback)
    Hastened Call of the Wild
    Staff Block
    More ranks of Virulent Paralysis and Hastened VP
    Additional rank of Silent Presence to make it Perfected
    Extended Cheetah
    Cone-based Virulent Paralysis

    Activated twin DoT ability
    AA version of Pack of Kriegas
    Additional ranks of DoT crits
    Pet buff similar to Frenzied Burnout
    More ranks of Spirit Call
    Innate cast time reduction of DoTs
    Activated ability that decreases healing percentage and grants a chance to proc DoT, nuke or both when casting damaging spells
    Greater Blood tithe
    Reduce cooldown on Bite line of nukes

    And here's the list that I think should be submitted. I've removed the items that include components that are fairly foreign to our class (snare, evac, summon corpse, etc.). I propose we use this list for debates, then revise as needed and post it to Elidroth's thread in Veteran's Lounge.

    Ack. Formatting on the ADPS section got messed up. This is how it should look:

    I would like to be able to cast union of spirits on someone who is currently benefiting from ancestral aid, for the heal, even if the buff/hot portion does not land.

    I have an idea for some who might hate it but could be sort of beneficial. Probably not the first to think of this.

    Spiritual Transfer (Under Shaman Class AA)

    AA Cost: 25

    Activated Ability

    Refresh Time: 10 Minutes

    Requirements: level 100, Cannibalization 10

    This ability allows the caster to channel mana to a single target while exchanging the casters health.

    Pretty much it acts like a cannibalization but targeting someone else to give the mana while exchanging your health. So its likes a shamans version of Quiet Miracle.

    Another idea was like having another Spire similar to the Shaman 2.0 Epic.

    Fundament: Fourth Spire of the Ancestors

    AA Cost: 15

    Activated Ability

    Refresh Time: 10 Minutes

    Requirements: level 100, Fundament of Wisdom 12

    This ability, when active, will increase your groups damage of their critical hits and increase the amount of healing they receive. Additional ranks will increase these bonuses.

    These two are just ideas is all, they may not be the greatest but I've played a Shaman for about 2 years and enjoyed the class.

    We really do not need a mana transfer ability and not sure a new spire with the epic effect on it would be a good idea either.

    *If no DPS increases*
    1. Debuff:
    i. Slow AA: seems to be good at present
    ii. Malo AA: strengthen or add a small poison/magic/corruption bonus to spells
    iii. Pathos or AE pathos: small added bonus to Disease damage
    iv. Feralinsia line: Broaden usage and actually make it worth it or dump it and give it to druids
    v. Cripple AA: Strengthen so other class don't have a stronger version
    vi. AA line that Strengthens or extends Snow Leopard spell
    vii. Group Fatigue AA: self explaned
    viii. Grp shrink AA that affects pet or fix current Grp Shrink to allow pets to be shrunk
    ix. . Endurance regen: Not a spell,,,but an AA for grp, and have it a descent endurance regen for grp
    member deaths. So Zerks will once again like us
    x. Radiant Cure: Strengthen. should be a one shot cure eh?
    xi. Canni needs an upgrade. both AA and Spell. Currently ancestral pact adds about....3%

    2. DPS increase:
    Dont really want to hear another class in here talking about shammy dps and why we shouldnt get any.
    Go to your own forum. DoTs need some more power. To think that a shaman has numerous DoTs
    memmed on raids is over stated. But...over the last few expansions...seems developers have gone
    through changes. DoTs (we were second to Necros). to DDs. could we direct to one or the other. DoTs or DDs! My preference would be to DoTs. I like the short duration DoTs idea, they just need to be
    upgraded. Im not asking for some uber upgrade, just some tweaking to normal Mob difficulty levels.

    i. DD/DoT twin cast AA: Not stackable on short duration DoTs: Short term buff that adds major twin cast
    chance.
    ii. Lingual Bite AA: Strengthen/resurrect it to at least a current content DoT

    Any chance shamans could get a curing totem? That cured an x amount of cure counters each pulse.

    Or just add some new ranks to call of the ancients aa with cures added to make this aa worth using.

    How about a shared Rabid Bear,it doesn't do much for us shaman but for melee I think it would be a great help.

    More Spam but:
    Shamans and rangers are the 12.75K max AA class.
    What we need are improvements to existing stuff. I'm not asking for a bunch of "Mission Creep" of other classes, but improvements on current AAs. Shamans have been treated very nicely ....pretty much throughout EQ history.
