I fully support this, you will RUIN the GoD expansion and make it EVEN harder to finish out a BiC augment since the more exciting content and levels will be in OoW :-(
  2. Rumlebrag Elder

ok now lets get to the bone of this...

Longer Velious = NO thanks. There is nothing to do outside raiding, no levels to be had, no new races, no new classes.

Longer Luclin = Yes sure, atleast we can grind AA's, there is a new race and there is a new class plus You have time to fix PoP as You say You need.

Why wait so long to release LDON? Wasn't it like released 2 weeks after LoY which was released 2 weeks after PoP in earlier TLP servers? Why do we have to wait 12 weeks then?
Releasing LoY at the same time as PoP = OK
Releasing LDON 4 weeks after PoP = OK (12 weeks after? NOT ok).

GoD needs to be on it's own release, do NOT combine with OoW. Great expansion, great raids and lots to do and BiC takes a lot of time. (Hopefully you adjust this to reflect on the increased release schedule right?).

If you want to bundle or speed up, then you could do this, since the 70 level range is extremely long and tedious.

OoW 4 weeks -> DoN 4 weeks -> DoDH 2 weeks-> PoR 6 weeks (just means PoR releases shortly after DoDH and giving plenty of time for both before new level cap) and giving us 16 weeks of level 70.

TSS 4 weeks -> TBS 8 weeks (gives plenty of time for both, 12 weeks of lvl 75)

    RECAP:
    • Velious kept on Schedule 12 weeks duration
    • Luclin kept on Schedule 24 weeks duration (way too many weeks of level 60)
    • LoY with PoP launch
    • LDON 4 weeks after PoP
    • GoD 8 weeks after LDON
    • OoW 12 weeks after GoD (24 weeks of level 65)
    • DoN 4 weeks after OoW
    • DoDH 4 weeks after DoN
    • PoR 2 weeks after DoDH (16 weeks of level 70)
    • TSS 6 weeks after PoR
    • TBS 8 weeks after TSS (12 weeks of level 75)

I am not 100% thrilled with an extra 6 week of Velious, but I am happy with the increase to time in Luclin and especially PoP! My biggest concern on this server was that PoP was gonna be way too short.

I also want to echo what others have said in this thread. Don't release GoD and OOW at the same time! GoD is doable now in era and is a good expansion, by releasing GoD at the same time you basically make sure no one ever goes to GoD other than to do it once and never again (May be worth doing Tacvi, but doubtful).

If nothing else put GoD on a 6 week Timeline and let it stand on its own but for a shorter time period. That way guilds who want to attempt GoD in era can do that but we will move onto OOW quicker for those who won't be able to complete GoD content.

Why can't it be PoP+LOY for 12 weeks, LDON for 6 weeks, GoD for 6 weeks, then were back to 12 weeks for OOW? (I am not against making LDON 12 weeks though, more time in PoP is always better)

I was away from this game for a solid 13 years. No ONs and OFFs. Just completely away. So when I returned 2 weeks ago I logged into my old characters on Bristlebane and was overwhelmed by all the changes. When I last played the max. level was 70. Now it's 105. I had a few dozen AAs back in the days - now I get auto-granted thousands. This learning curve is way to steep for me personally. That's why I decided to just start fresh on a TLP server.

That would allow me to slowly catch up with all the expansions and learn what new stuff they bring. Now DBG are planning to merge 2 expansions into 1 release twice (PoP+LoY and GoD+OoW). I really don't like it. I also really don't like that I have to wait on SoL for an extra month. But the latter is something I can handle.

Apart from all my personal preference, good points have been brought up in this thread. Like OoW gutting GoD.

Please consider changing your schedule once again. You really should. I am sure there are more people like my out there.

Oh, and btw, people who play EverQuest nowadays mostly aren't really new people. It's the people that learned to love the game back in the days. They liked the challenge, the slow leveling (compared to today's MMOs), the socializing and more. I like many of the QoL changes, I really do (/melody, anyone?) but please do not trivialize any content (GoD). We are playing EverQuest on a TLP for a reason. Thanks.

That sounds totally solid to me. DBG, please copy & paste this into your cycle plan :D

OK, so, the 18 week timers for Luclin and PoP are fine, all for doing it right if it'll take another 12 weeks let's take the extra 12 weeks.

I don't really love the idea of treating LDoN as a standalone expansion, that schedule has us basically doing 24 weeks of PoP (12 of PoP+LoY, 12 of PoP+LoY+LDoN). What if we split the difference and unlocked LDoN 6 weeks into PoP rather than 12?

    Luclin: Sept 28 21016
    PoP/LoY: Feb 1 2017 (18 weeks after Luclin)
    LDoN: Mar 15 2017 (6 weeks after PoP/LoY)

As far as OOW/GoD goes, I see some definite upside to doing it that way. There are some definite drawbacks, though. On OOW unlock there will be 2 huge sets of AAs available plus 5 levels, that's a lot of grinding, GoD / OOW best enjoyed questing and raiding rather than grinding IMO. Take the 6 weeks you saved by unlocking LDoN earlier and give us a 6-week GoD period before OOW. 6 weeks is plenty of time for top guilds to finish the expansion and be in a position to farm it while in OOW, and after 6 weeks the not-so-top guilds will be ready to try GoD with 5 more levels under their belt.

GoD: June 7 2017 (12 weeks after LDoN)
OOW: July 19 2017 (6 weeks after GoD)

DoN: August 30 2017 (6 weeks after OOW)
DoDH: Nov 22 2017 (12 weeks after DoN)

You can go ahead and unlock DoN 6 weeks into OOW, too. Gives you 12 weeks of vish clicks and 18 weeks of epic 2.0s, plenty of time to get ready for Demiplane.

PoR: Jan 3 2018 (6 weeks after DoDH)
TSS: Feb 14 2018 (6 weeks after PoR)

We can also basically treat PoR as a mini-expansion ala LDoN, 12 weeks should be plenty of time in Demiplane before TSS, the only exciting raid items in PoR really are the aura clicks, which you're going to farm in Deathknell during TSS anyway.

    Level 60: 48 weeks
    Level 65: 24 weeks
    Level 70: 30 weeks

By the way, I'm probably in the minority here, but I'd much rather have 12 weeks of Velious and 24 weeks of Luclin than 18 and 18.
  7. Wawa Journeyman

O god, please don't mess up GoD :(

Also, prolong luclin if you have to, but dont prolong velious. People need something to do, raiding same stuff with no incentive to exp what so ever will cause massive burnouts and lost $ for you.
  8. Trackanon Elder

Yes. I would also prefer the extra time for AA's, Vex Thal farming, and people to level up their Beastlords. What does velious have that's similar? faction no one really cares about?
  9. Aradar New Member

As everyone else on these 9 pages have said already, please do NOT release GOD and OOW at the same time!
  10. -wycca Augur

You're not alone. As much as I love Velious, it's got nothing besides raids for the most part. I'd rather spend the extra time in Luclin. An added perk is that in Luclin, Velious raids are still pretty relevant.

Bundling GoD/OOW is by far the worst idea DBG has thrown at us. Please rethink this decision.
  12. Semah Augur

    ^ This.
  13. TheTick Journeyman

I would rather have 6 months of Luclin, so PoP opens a bit later and God/OMens are split up.

I mean with instances, Luclin should actually be a lot of fun on Phinigel. Without 12 guilds fighting over the raid mobs it really makes sense to spend 6 months in Luclin to grind SSRA/Seru/VT, and the 3-500 useful AA's depending on your class.

Don't move forward with your plan as is now.....please!
  14. snailish Augur

More time in Luclin to prep PoP... Understood. I wouldn't extend Velious but can live with that fine.

GoD should not be combined with OoW, no level cap-differing expansions should be combined.

My preference is PoP with LoY (raid stuff for the raiders, new race and new low grouping stuff for those that don't just want to do the raids, or want an alternate for some of the lower-tier gear --there actually is some in LoY, it just wasn't popular originally as mid-tier PoP is better than nearly all of it.)

LDoN with GoD makes sense too. If you hate GoD (or think you hate it) and don't want to do that raid progression, LDoN would be fresh and active. Mixing and matching gear between the 2 has some viability too.

combining the level 70 expacs, 75 expacs, and so on does make sense.

The important thing is don't combine GoD and OoW. I originally hated both myself (OoW was the last straw that made me leave the game for the first time). I've gained an appreciation.
  15. Demoncrusher Lorekeeper

    Good morning Roshen,

    1. Please ask the team to reconsider their decision on bundling GoD and OoW. Both expansions are crowd favorites, but when they are forcibly combined they lose a lot of integrity.

    2. If you are willing to bend the rules on combining content out of "classic" era as your GoD/OoW decision indicates, perhaps you would be willing to let us work on the most basic level of AAs during Velious? This would make the extra weeks much more bearable, and it would also mean a wider margin for tuning content difficulty as players would have access to a few perks that could help during raids.

It is funny, every new TLP I gain an appreciation for a newer expansion. I hated God/Omens until Combine.... I hated DoDH, TSS, and TBS until Fippy. I figured this time having a little more knowledge about some of these others that I'd warm up to them again.
  17. Heartland Augur

I'm all for bundling Gates and Omens together! And while you're at it, you should add an extra 30 weeks to Prophecy of Ro.
  18. Malystaire New Member

I'd like to vote for immediate release of the Beastlord class. It's the only class I truly love and it has been a chore biding my time as it is, let alone with this new longer schedule.

In less than 20 hours since the announcement, we already have 10 pages of nearly unanimous feedback on the topic of bundling GoD+OoW. Typically you have people on various ends of the spectrum supporting/opposing changes like this, but in this case we have people from every single corner of the community vehemently opposing this decision. From casual, to mid-tier, to hardcore...people who normally can't see common ground and argue bitterly with each other are all in support of one common theme here:

Please don't bundle GoD and OoW.

    And release beastlords early.

If they say they cannot for any reason, they said that with raid instance and it happened.
