How are the new root changes so far? Haven’t been able to test yet. Is root nuking more viable? Or is it just a minor decreased chance in breaking?
Seems like a pretty significant difference against light blue cons. I've noticed way less root breaks when applying a enchanter DoT. Against nearly even con mobs it's more of a coin flip than a sure break like it used to be. I haven't tried it out enough yet to see if MR debuffs play a significant role, could be a different story for a wizard root/nuking against non debuffed mobs. Overall a nice change for casters and should be great for mid level shaman, but it can backfire sometimes when you want to snap break a root for whatever reason.
It won't always apply, but in many cases a dispel might be a better option. Lots of debuffs/dots are dispellable of course, but many of them are not. (Poison/Disease dots, most slows, etc)
I haven't noticed much of a difference when breaking VP. Perhaps it's because the mobs are typically even or higher to me.
I've used Virulent Paralysis a few times now, and even casting top end DoTs like Breath of Ultor and Blood of Saryrn on mobs with VP on them, it still didn't break, but that's a 'strong root'. If I remember right, using my paladins stuns even on VP rooted mobs had broken it at one point.
