Relaxed truebox - if you're against it... why?

If they wanted to really cut down on most boxing, all they have to do is disable the /follow command.

As a legit 6-12 trueboxer, this would be enough to make me not want to box much... not having auto follow would be way more of a hassle to me than having to use 12 computers.

I've seen dozens of pictures of people's huge box setups that they claim are "legit", yet to see video of somebody actually playing them all.
  3. Grok Augur

Well they are all missing a great opportunity to get your approval.

Push button. character do thing. Truly a revolutionary concept that isn't believable without video evidence.

    Now that's interesting.

Or it'd push even more people to illicit ways to /follow *shrug*
  7. MaestroM Augur

What are the illicit ways to /follow?
  8. Grok Augur

I doubt it. I think the overwhelming majority of boxers are not interested in the more nefarious ways to do that. A lot of regular people probably use some form of auto clicker, mouse/keyboard sharing, or multiplexing of keys... but I don't think that many people want to use programs that can replace /follow.

Also, those would stick out like a sore thumb. Most people that are in the know can easily tell the difference between a /follow and a /stick.... but if everyone knew /follow were out, it would be pretty easy to police the other... if there were a desire.

At any rate, boxing is fine. All these whiners just complain about boxing because they think there are are less people to carry them through the game since those people that carry know their box plays better than most randos.

This simple thing would definitely stop me from boxing.

Unfortunately i dont think it would stop the more nefarious boxers since they from what ive seen in places like early tlp hole and sirens gritto they just warp around instead of actually moving with follow

Try reading any of the 37 other forum threads about the suggestion to remove /follow. Will never happen. Many players (including me) use this legitimately. It's in the game for a reason. The majority of 6+ boxers are using third-party software already, which does the whole follow thing a different way, and this change would just push the remaining holdouts in that direction.

I'm curious where the proof of what server has the most subs is coming from. Not doubting or confirming, but I am wondering what the source is and if there is one other than guessing.

I think I will sooner see a camel pass through the eye of a needle than video of a "legit" 12 boxer.

Eq resource has server history trends. If 1 server spends the majority of its time at medium/high and another spends the majority of its time at low/medium then its pretty easy to see one has more accounts logged in. Since tlp are sub only, more accounts = more subs. Live servers you can't draw the same conclusions as easily since they include free to play.

How many 12 boxers are you running into on the regular? I run 6 and even other six boxers aren't terribly common in my experience. There's fairly little benefit towards more than one groups worth for regular play. Hell I saw more 18+ boxers selling loot rights on my current TLP than I saw 12 boxers.

Is this supposed to impress anyone? It's more comical than anything.

And you're blatantly ignoring the major legal issues you're facing having a server being moderated by volunteers. Your paying customers will have a field day with that in a joint civil suit against DPG. And the "if you don't like it don't play on it" mantra won't cut it. That's not how a company runs a business.

that's not how... any of that works. any legal body would laugh you out the door.

They don't need a lawsuit for it to impact the company. Folks just wouldn't play on a server where random other players have the power to ban you. That'll be enough of an impact. Server would be dead in short order if they gave guides the power to ban. Who is going to risk there account and krono hoping they don't accidentally upset some powertripping neckbeard. (I do not think current guides are powertripping neckbeards, mostly because they have no power. Anyone who would volunteer to police a no box server would most likely fall into this category.)

You would see them playing like 3 characters and the other 9 dps autoclickers with /assist /attack on

As for the /follow gang, if you get rid of that command, you only hurt legit boxers. Boxing software doesnt use /follow so cheaters would be unaffected.

It's whatever you decide to make of it man.

I'm not ignoring anything other the any need to reply to that loud noise response coming from somebody who certainly stuck out to me in my pop in board skimming as one of the louder and more obnoxious "every thread" voices on this message board.

I wouldn't have enough incentive or energy to argue with you. So yeah, you win there buddy. Legit follow through lawsuits filed in the courts from Joe EQ after getting banned for boxing. That's 100% grounded in real world reality stuff right there.
