Regarding Fists/Pets/Spell Updates:

Complaints about these things (especially pets) are starting to crop up again.

As such as a quick thread starter (I honestly probably won't be back to debate it much, I'm playing more than I'm foruming ATM) - I would like to suggest that I think their past statements of "it can't be done" are partially true. I'm sure it's not in a standard format.

However, with an aura effect (like Uqua or the like) debuff that's zonewide in every zone that despawns in an appropriate era [TSS I think is when most of the rescaling happened, right?] that nerfs pet damage by X%, Fist damage by X% and Spell Damage by X% you could theoretically get back to something that's a closer appropriation of classic. [I don't know the math, so X it will have to be - splitballing a concept not absolutes - if X needs to vary by class, then make 13 versions, one per class with the appropriate debuff for that class to dial it in more (I think that's likely not necessary but again, just spitballing) - also likely shouldn't apply to L61+ pets and spells since I don't think those were rescaled with the changes]

You'd want to flag the ability as non-detrimental so as to not impact the /pickzone system of course.

That seems to me to be the most elegant solution to address the current imbalances between classes - and it might even address some things like the boxing woes/raiding complaints since so many of current complaints (boxers, TL gimping raids, TLs leveling rate) rely on stacking overpowered classes.

Again, just a muse, probably won't debate with y'all over it too much, but giving the forum some food for thought in a different direction.

I'd support this. I do play classes that would be impacted by this as well.

Just splitballing here, but this isn't even a factor after classic. The time spent to do this isn't worth it.

When the ideal group for doing every bit of content in the game is 6 mages... something needs to be done.

Please consider a fix like this.

Not gonna happen. Besides that, anything to remind me of Uqua can go bugger itself.

how2fix pets: nerf low level pets on all servers, make a lvl 1 version of http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=85492 very available on all non-prog servers, 0pp on gl magus is an option, the buff focuses low level pets to current levels

how2fix fists: nerf fists on all servers, make defiant h2h weapons with ratios to match current low level fists, this would also greatly benefit genuinely new players who might easily otherwise end up using a weapon with worse ratio than their fists, make a claim option for no trade defiant h2h weapons on non-prog servers to fix the short term scarcity

how2fix spells: on a future prog server make a higher required level to scribe a spell, a player could still level to 29 scribe the overpowered for prog level 16 spell and death loop but players would have to level without the overpowered for prog spells and level 40+ nukes wouldn't be available at all until kunark

Theoretically its one NPC added to a ton of zones and one spell effect designed - the time commitment is pretty low.

And it's absolutely still a large Kunark factor - and while a lesser factor, still influences things up until PoP.

If you honestly believe what you're saying, you've not played progression before - or you've got blinders on.

This is not a classic server.
The fastest solution is to accept this and realize that some things aren't going to change, fists/pets/spells being one of them.

I'm honestly not concerned with it from a classic standpoint - however it would likely have the "boxing is bad" and such issues fixed as a side benefit while not harming basic gameplay functions and the ability for families to play together.

I'd suggest actually reading what is said in the OP in the future - my intent is quite clear - the "more classicness" of it is just a side effect that might appeal to "must be Classic types" not the primary intent.
