Re-Arrange Buff Slots?

I saw something like this mentioned in the AA thread, but it doesn't really seem like an AA. More of a game mechanic that could be changed.

I read through the cliff notes from the SoE Q&A and it was not in there, so I am voicing it here.

I myself and one of the many people who is OCD about their buff slots. I am not crazy where I click off Haste so I can get my DS click in slot 1 or anything, but it fills me with ire silently until I die next. If I find the person who cast the buff on me is not in zone... then I may click it off and put my DS in slot 1!

A lot of buffing classes have raged because of people who click off buffs for those reasons. Personally, my need developed from boxing. Knowing exactly what buff was where and having them aligned by significance and duration with clickies coming first was a means for me to know which character had something important dropping. All random gibberish buffs were always cast last, like panther, runspeed, bard haste, poison procs, etc...

It doesn't seem like it would be that difficult to manipulate this. Perhaps give it a key-bind assignment so people can allocate it to what they will? Personally, I think that CTRL, Left-click, drag and release would work well with the buff that you move just pushing everything else down 1 slot.

How about automatic buff sorting by type and time remaining?

I'd <3LOVE<3 to be able to sort my buffs.

Im very particular about what goes in my first few buff slots. Far too many times has something went into the first slot that I clicked off only to ask for a rebuff again. Being able to sort them would remedy that!

I just ignore these people and pretend to afk when they request the buff again after they clicked it off.

We've been asking for this for years. It's nice to get rebuffed right away after you die, but if you aren't sure what buffs are on because they are out of order (what did I forget . . who knows, the icons are terrible now, so I can't tell at a glance?), it isn't so fun. Luckily I'm a paladin, so I can just use act of valor and pretend the game killed me so I can get my buffs back in order :)

Not so much rearranging, but I think it'd be nice if you could reserve slots for specific buffs.

personally i would love to see this implemented i like the fact if you could arrange your buffs would make things so much easier looking at a glance and know forsure what buffs missing etc

I wish my buffs would rearrange themselves when one drops. I hate having empty slots between buffs. I also wish we could filter which buffs/debuffs we see on NPC's.. my target window is getting rather large =/

LOL...I have done that before...ONLY when they asked me for the buff and then realized they asked for it too soon and put it in the wrong slot and so asked for it again.

The problem with that is that you have to hold right click on a buff icon to see who cast it.

Every great now and then I spend a week tracking the buffs I come back to when I afk in lobby. I list the casters in /note and then, at the end of the week, I send them all several thousand plat via parcel with a note saying I've gotten mgbs from you in lobby and wanted to say thanks (or similar). The responses are usually surprise and/or appreciation, although one cleric warned me that they'd stop buffing me if I paid them for buffs ever again. =D

But sometimes I accidentally click the buff instead of holding the button down and the buff poofs... which not only means I have to ask around for the buff again, but also means I don't know who cast it and can't add them to the list.

    Most irksome.

i always laugh when ppl request buffs in a certain slot. Coming from a mnk im glad i have 0 buffs to give, because if i found out ppl clicked the buff off so it can be 2 slots down and they wanted my to recast it on them, not going to lie id probably /i them and just reply i MGB'd it the end!
  12. Recnarp Augur

Yeah, it gets pretty ridiculous at times. That fact that you have OCD or can't tell what buffs you have after playing EQ for 10 yrs isn't my problem.

And with a simple UI implementation, it wouldn't be anyone else's problem either you selfish backwards reindeer ogre!!! <3

Also, just because you play 1 maybe 2 chars sometimes and find it easy to keep up on buffs, doesn't mean the next guy playing 3-5 chars can do so as easily.

Again, yea yea, it's not your problem. But they're paying customers (who actually contribute more to the continuance of the game than you do by paying for more accounts, more expansions, more SC) are requesting a change be implemented when change ideas are being asked for by the developers while resources are devoted to them.
