Started over with a friend who is a ranger. I picked shaman and was wondering what class would best compliment it. I'm not super busy on shaman at the moment, so I could probably handle boxing more. We hit level 51 in sebilis, but was wondering what class would help the most with doing daily tasks/HA. I've played every class to level 62. I googled tbm tds ranger dps and came across a parse log on eqfreelance.com forums that had the ranger grouped with 3 wizards, a shaman, and enchanter. This is why I picked shaman I think so I can ruchu and lion proc? and slow and pestilent paralysis when I get it. plus I like the lore behind the class.
I run a ranger main with shaman and bard boxes. I love my trio. Well, until they nerfed dicho. But still a good combination in my opinion.
Meh, for my Ranger, I put a Tank Merc up front if I know it can take the hits. If not AND the con is White or Higher I will use the DPS Melee merc. IF the con is White (yes I know this occurs twice) or lower then I use a DPS Caster merc. If there is any doubt I pull out my Healer Merc and probe the encounter. Unlike other advice you may see, I am not above using my Merc Tank but NOT set to Main Tank. In that scenario I am going to be the Tank. If it is going bad. I set the tank to Main Tank and run like the wind. But I do have 6 Merc Slots (account wide) so I carry 1 of each and duplicates of the tank.
