EQ is not a hard game, people can get to 50 alot quicker then they did back in 1999. DBG instanced alot if not all the high end groupable content, so now you have a metric crap ton of 50s with nothing to do. thank you for uping the spawn rate. it helped but it did not help that much. people want to raid, people want to raid the big targets.

    No thanks.

If players had voted for Kunark early or as soon as possible they wouldn't be complaining about having nothing to do right now.

Theres lots to do in game at 50 aside from raids. max out everything you can for your character and raid when possible. there are a lot of quests, tradeskills, and fun things to do in free time. and if your really that bored there's always the option of starting another character before Kunark comes ... we voted for 6 months and now we get it =)

Charge us $ for instanced raids...

the amount of worthwhile quest isn't half as big as you think, and lots of them revolve around doing nothing for extended period of time ( hello mystic cloak 1 hour repop PH).

i'm not quite sure where the hard-on for maxing tradeskill comes from... they are severly limited in classic and thanks to the ''combine all'' button, arn't the carpal-tunnel inducers they used to be.

    not everyone like alts.

I don't know how to put this, but killing Nagafen is an achievement.

than take a break until kunark comes out? or start a toon on ragefire than youll have less time restrictions... the options are there you just have to exercise them instead of asking for everything to be handed to you .....

im all for instanced raiding, dont get me wrong. but this subject has been ridden more than a fairground pony. it is not going to happen. DBG has sent that word out quite vocally heh. so instead of belly aching. perhaps making lemonade out of lemons is the better option

    Want more money?
    I will buy raid instances.

Want more dumb suggestions? Kegwell has got those too!
  11. Kegwell Lurker since '99

Yes, making money is dumb :)

It's not as simple as: "Some random dude on the forums is willing to give us 20 bucks if we do?!? yeah!"

They have to think of the long term health of the game, and while I agree that Instancing at this point might be warranted the "I would pay for it!" Isn't really an argument with any value in the debate...

The rampant cheating and utterly horrible behavior by some people is much higher on the list of things not conducive to the long term health of the server.

someone start a go fund me for instanced raids
  15. Kegwell Lurker since '99

How can pay to instance raids be bad for ANYONE?
What, you won't have people to KS and grief? Won't have people to RMT with?
Either instance, and possibly make extra money, or see the server die a slow death.
If a guild BUYS an instance, doesn't have to deal with GRIEFERS, get the loot they need, how does that hurt YOU?

Pretty sure The guiLds would still monopolize Classic raid targets. From an outside point of view, what you said makes sense. But the reality of the situation is The guiLds does not want to share candy. They are not good at sharing.

    Instance raids, it's the answer.

    It is now. Sorta.

It was not a week ago.

The majority of players would have rather seen Nagafen instanced the way it was, instead of seeing it buffed and made faster spawn.

Both solutions result in more drop rate, but one is clearly better than the other for the majority of players.

One results in a select few profiting from the sale of items (what we are stuck with).

The other allows players to gear themselves (what we should have had).

Which would most people want? If you say the first you are lying to yourself because you live in that camp.

Which is why the decision that was made was the wrong one for the bulk of players, which means it was the wrong business decision.

I'm not going to guess as to why the decision was made, but I'm quite sure it was a bad business decision. It was an emotional decision. And emotion should be kept out of business because it makes emotional people make bad decisions. As was the case here.

I was thinking they could of put some work into the "classic content". Add a dungeon or two, some uncovered hall in befallen, Guk or some new Orc stronghold.New raid targets, anything to spice up the progression experience. Just a thought, maybe an expansion aimed at levels 1-50. I know it's not likely, but would anyone not welcome it? As for instancing, why not? Why would anyone be against it? I think instanced raids would be healthy for the server, I mean the difficulty doesn't really change does it? Other then competing for the target that is.
