Raid Chests 0 loots

That isn't a fair way to judge the drop rates of item, at best you could say ignore the back/neck because of evolvers but weapons are something everyone needs.

I find it strange that everyone is complaining about the drop rate yet we don't see any posts that show the drop rate for the entire expansion and instead just get samples cherry picked out to make claims that the drop rate is bad.

    Since it was asked:

Just speaking about T3 group gear drops, I'm in HF and LI (sometimes pick hopping to see what's up) just about every night doing merc tasks for AA on an alt, 2-3 hours at a time. On average, I'm seeing between 6 to 10 named mobs pop a night...sometimes a little less, sometimes a little more. I'm not just killing one set of placeholders; I'm roaming all over the zone sometimes killing ph'ers for 4 or 5 mobs...basically for all 4 drop types (armor, weapons, augs, non-vis).

I'm getting about 1 T3 piece in 10 kills. I've had nights where I get no drops at all, for multiple nights sometimes. Occaisonally, I'll have a good night and get 2 drops, but getting 1 drop out of every 10 or so kills is about the norm.

I'll let people read into that what they want, but my own take is that the drop rates are completely screwed up...most likely by the merc gear and ornaments being on the loot table when they have no business being there.

I've read your posts in this thread, and I appreciate that you are consistent - consistently wrong. It seems you don't raid.

Several credible people on this thread have posted of a drop rate of 0.8-1.0. Many more of us who talk in game know this number to be accurate and fully data driven. Feel free to continue to discredit it without your own data based solely on your uninformed opinion. You just make it that much easier for the rest of us to form an opinion about you.

And yes - necks, cloak, and weapons are useless to most guilds in the top 30 at this point. Every main has looted 1'2 weapons ores by now and bought the other. Said guilds are seeing these go to alts, or will be by the end of May.

With that said, gearing up still remains quite fast and on par with last expansion. The thing that disappoints me is EQ was historically a game that rewarded you with the chest at the end of an event. Now its just about attendance checks to coin out.
  4. Waring_McMarrin Augur

I do raid and my guild has noticed that we geared up faster under the new system last expansion and are on a faster pace so far this expansion as well. People seem to be able to gear up faster and are just upset that not every chest will have a usable drop. Adetia has made several posts about how TR has geared up faster under the new system but I have yet to see any posts showing how a guild has geared up slower, just talk about drops over a small number of raids.

As people are complaining about the drops for slots with an evolver should they stop adding the evolvers so that people don't feel bad about seeing them? Just because you got the drops you needed already doesn't make them useless as you are able to sell back (or you could last expansion) and get some currency towards a purchase from those drops.
  5. Brickhaus Augur

Either you are not telling the truth OR your guild hasn't cleared all the raids it can each week. There are only 8 raids in the latest expansion ... there were 9 raids last expansion. You've had 4+ months with one less chest available and fewer coins. The chest makeups are not different (except the ore chances).

If you are actually claiming you've opened more chests in LS vs NoS then congratulations! You are actually arguing that raids should be easier. Which is missing the point of the conversation in this thread.
  6. Waring_McMarrin Augur

My guild clears all raids every week and the new system allowed us to gear up faster then the old one ore system. I will ask again, if it really was gearing up slower why don't we have posts with data showing that gearing up was slower across the entire expansion? All we seem to be getting are posts talking about the drops in a small subsection of raids where you had bad luck. Adetia has posted information about the drop rates that have been seen and how it made gearing up faster. It isn't a matter of how many chests you open but the average drop rate you get from them.
  7. Brickhaus Augur

Stop moving the goal posts. This is not a thread about total loot because of various other factors (see the P.S. below). The folks here are talking about chests open in a cycle and the ores they are seeing.

But you literally cannot gear up faster with one less chest per week. You cannot. Unless your guild was the one guild getting 2 ores in every single chest. If you were getting 2 ores in every single chest, then congratulations ... your guild is the luckiest guild ever. The rest of us were not so lucky ... not even close.

I believe Adetia said she "felt like" her guild was gearing up faster. That doesn't mean her guild actually did. Until very recently she did say that her guild was getting less than one ore per chests and even now, it's barely over 1 average. With one less chest every single week, it means fewer ores total.

It's math. Unless you want to post your actual numbers, you cannot have more gear and more coin now than in NoS. 8 < 9 It's impossible that your ore "wins" make up the difference in an entire chest.

P.S. If you're guild split raided (which it seems a lot of guilds did) and/or you raided lockouts during the "race", then you might have more chests. Which again, is arguing for ridiculously easy raids. Which is a completely different argument and not what this thread is talking about.
  8. Waring_McMarrin Augur

I am not moving the goal posts and I have been saying the same thing the entire time. Yes it sucks that you can get chests with no drops but the system lets you gear up faster as you have the possibility of more items dropping, unwanted items can be sold back and in general the prices on the vendor are cheaper.

All I am asking for is a post to show over the course of an entire expansion that the gearing up is slower and not just another complaint about a string of bad luck on drops.
  9. Knifen Augur

If someone can post how many possible events (non split raiding) since raids dropped day 1.I can tell how many we are avg.
Since Raid Day 1 and not missing an event thats open (to my knowledge)

Doing my best count of total raids is right at 80
so 0.95 odds. List of drops is correct, count of raids could be off

Post your guild data, you're trying to argue that probabilities less than 1 are greater than 1.

For your other point, the vendor prices are more expensive than ToV.

Stop arguing against the basic laws of probability.

As other people pointed out this is not about speed or total # of items. It's an argument against having 0, included in the outcomes for events that are done weekly, requiring 50+ players.
  11. Windance Augur

We're at a 0.88% drop rate. We've had some bad nights where no TS item's have dropped.

I would be ecstatic to see 1 per chest at this point, we have seen literally 1 or 2 total ores over the last 9 chests.
  13. Waring_McMarrin Augur

My guild data has already been discussed in Adetia's posts and they are supporting the idea that it gearing up is faster. If guilds really did gear up slower because of this change it should be easy to get the data to show it.
  14. KushallaFV Playing EverQuest

The data literally showed exactly that guild's geared up slower, but again not the point of the post.

Adetia, even says the average rate is around 0.9. Are you trying to argue that 0.9 is greater than 1?
  15. Waring_McMarrin Augur

She also said that we finished gearing up in the last expansion faster then we have in the past and as we are not even half way through this expansion raid wise those are not the final numbers.
  16. Fenthen Well, that's that...

They should probably remove clocks & necks from the loot table. Any responsible raider would have the evolving kinds.

Seeing the numbers being posted is just... sad. The EQ Devs really need to be ashamed of themselves. They're hurting the game more than they know.

Again, CoV was the fastest on the list. You didn't answer my question. Do you think that 0.9 is greater than 1?

oh my. i dont know why waring has gotten so dug in on this, or why we need ten posts arguing about what i said. his views are his own, and thats fine, we often differ on the need for constant rebuttal on the forums along with the content of our opinions ;)

To be clear, my first post indicated we were at .9. then .94. I have returned back a few times to update, and we are now over 1.0, briefly flirted with 1.1, and are now sitting at 1.06. i've tried to be as open as i can be about our drops/events etc going back many years in this post, and when i said we geared up faster under this system then the previous one ore system, that means LS/NOS vs prior when we had a universal one, NOT LS Vs NOS, from the context of that specific comment from that specific post, which is obvious when not taken out of context. I could hardly believe it last year, and have no reason to think it will be significantly different this year - tho probably(?) a touch slower this year due to the missing raid - which may be offset slightly by the mask/ring drops from anni raid hanging around (i've started thinking of that as #9 with guaranteed drops even though they are not included in my reported #s here). as always, the loot starts slow and escalates quickly as currency moves along offsetting the need for drops (tho that isnt the subject here).

I previously inquired (before the "new" system when in before NoS) about the possibility of making one guaranteed drop, as I totally agree that getting blanked on valiant items feels cruddy, but when it was explained to me to the best of my recollection, it was far from as simple as we might imagine it to be in practical terms.

Obviously its just a groanfest when cloaks and necks drop, but thankfully they havent been super plentiful for us. 1 and 3 respectfully). this past week, to keep with the trend, we saw:
    2, 2, 2, 1, 2, 0, 1, 0 which again, closed us out at 1.06.

I think it's just someone being stubborn.

I'll admit I confused up your data point thinking you were seeing 0.94 as the probability for a TS drop versus your average drop rate. The 1.06 rate is still below ToV and CoV which is what would be expected since those guaranteed at least one drop.

The forums are essentially that Monty Python argument skit.

  20. Waring_McMarrin Augur

And you are ignoring the fact that the expansion isn't even halfway done yet, that drop rates will increase as the number of possible drops increases, and that the items are cheaper to buy. Adetia has stated that we finished faster under the new system last year.
