Quietly removing Krono from Accounts is Unacceptable!

Are you suggesting a player that buys krono for plat in the baz to keep their sub running should be a bannable offence if that krono happens to be charged back by the seller? Cause I'm having a really hard time understanding your point here otherwise.

No'one is suggesting unraveling the web of trades, that isn't possible obviously. But If you have to remove the krono due to a chargeback, ban the account charging back (as has always been done) and any acct associated with it, and compensate the player you take the krono from, without them having to catch you removing it. Alert us if you have to remove the krono we purchase and compensate, with in game currency to afford another. This will cause minor inflation, but won't cost you subs from disgruntled customers. No'one running this scam is holding onto their fraudulent krono.

Again, I am making no comments on the communication or lack of communication about any krono removal, rather I am focusing on the issues around the complexity of undo any trades around the krono.

That is generally what happens when chargebacks happen and it can include things such as krono or tradeable expansion keys. That is one of the reasons why it can take so long to get a krono after purchasing them.

That ban applies to the account and CC that did the chargeback, not the current holder of the krono. To say that someone might get banned for using a krono that someone else made a chargeback on is pretty far fetched.

I don't think they have given any reason for taking back the Krono. Perhaps its a system issue and has nothing to do with dirty money.

I agree. If nothing else it helps warn the player they may have dealt with a scammer.

All the krono I have I amassed years ago so I doubt I would get affected but if I was buying kronos from other players I think the smart thing would be to keep a manual tally of my kronos. At the very least I would want to know if some krono I acquired had been removed because someone else did a charge back or whatever other scams netted them krono that had to be confiscated.

Tough situation as I can see DBs side of it. They can never tell how far a scam goes as to who is involved and they have to recoup their losses and ensure scams don't pay but they take a double hit. First the scam then second pissing off a player who was not involved in the scam and is really a victim.

All my krono are bought through barter in the bazaar. Tickets been open since saturday on the missing one, no response yet.

what posting here repeatedly does not change your ticket progress. It does make you sound quite whiny though

My main concern is making this issue visible, the way it's being handled by the company is wrong. Ticket is dealt with, and plat returned based on the value of the lost krono. That isn't the primary reason I started this thread though.

The issue is doing this without letting their customers know. I caught it, and was compensated. How many people didn't though?

You're under the assumption they knew it was going to happen and did happen. And that they're able to track where they all went, and as such, are handling it wrong by dealing with a 1 on 1 basis.

Could simply be that they know about it, but don't really have any way to track it outside of going through each individual character/account to find the issue which would take a lot longer than doing the 1 on 1 based on people going to them.

Not sure about you, but I keep track of important things. A missing Krono would be a fairly large red flag (even if i have been holding onto them for months).

I'm under the impression a company selling a high value secure item, won't just remove those items from their consumers without notification yes. Otherwise they totally devalue their own cash cow, and damage the game.

Ive heard that krono are accounted for as income when they are used, rather than when they are bought. If thats true then it may explain why they chose not to allow them to be used but chose to delete and pay out plat instead.

Every trade a character makes goes through the server system and is recorded, a Krono bought and charged back can be traced within what should be the few days involved. If some one was hacked and did not notice that Charge until they get the CC bill, they probably lost far more than 18$.

I buy my krono in game via pp and use those kronos to pay for my subs and in-game items .. I def would be upset if i found a few missing .. its not like i have a ton only a few a month but its enough for me to play for free on 3 or 4 accounts at a time and still have some to purchase items in game

I just recently purcahsed the rare chase summoner's memorforged droped earring EM 31 for 4kr :p my necro is a happy skeleton ..

I've never had a problem paying for my (well, and my wifes) accounts with krono for the past few years.
  17. Bigstomp Augur

They are very careful with Krono. I regularly run into issues where it takes a few tries to spend a Krono. I assume because the background system cares much more about a money item than throwing a few plat to someone.

Can confirm I lost 2 Krono randomly purchased with PP from tunnel on July 17th. I petitioned and explained and had an amount of pp equal to 2 KR in my parcel from a character sharing the name of the GM who answered my petition. Now, on July 28th roughly, another disappeared so I once again petitioned but this time it was put on hold to "investigate and gather information" and I "would be updated as soon as possible". No response since and my ticket remains open.

I put in a ticket last Saturday the 27th when I noticed one missing. Got a reply Sunday the 28th that they would be looking into it which gave me hope. I logged in on the 29th and noticed another Krono gone. So I updated my ticket that another was missing. And as of today, still no further response. This shakes my confidence in the system TBH. I don't share my account details nor do I consume them for play time (Lifetime All Access Account) so I can only assume that they were removed by Daybreak/Darkpaw.

I want to say, "lie down and dogs you will get fleas", but people want to just hate on darkpaw I guess. Blame the people doing chargebacks.
