Whoever is pulling these krono scam purchases is an bad name. They are causing other players problems. And let's be clear it is not DBs fault but I do think folks should be informed if a krono is removed from their account and they are not the ones who purchased it from DB.

Yeah I dont think it is safe to buy them that way anymore. Just my opinion.

How else do you suggest people get their krono in game then?

this isn't our problem to solve. we're the customers being inconvenienced by fraud...

well presumably fraud, no actual confirmation of anything, so we're supposed to solve a problem and we don't know what the problem is?

how about starting with notifying customers when items are removed from their account (see thread title keyword "quietly")

You seem to be missing the point in that the way krono are expected to be gotten in game are through mechanics like barter, bazzar and trading with players in general. With any of these trade methods you don't know which of your krono is being traded or where that was from.

And I don't think anyone is disagreeing with the idea of actually notifying players when this happens to them.

I agree that customers should be notified when items are removed. you're very smart and very correct.

Id suggest not holding on to krono that you get in game, at least until they figure out what they want to do about it. Use them up asap.

From what I've read it's very possible that Daybreak didn't intentionally do it, and it's just a bug. Unless someone has something from Daybreak saying what the cause is that I missed.

I could see how random people losing Kr could be an unintended consequence of how they process Kr charge backs. Since each Kr has a unique ID, they may just do a simple delete of the Kr which is involved in the charge back. In the simple case, the Kr is in the account of the person doing the charge back and deleting that Kr is fine. However, they may have made the mis-assumption that the person doing the charge back always owns the Kr. They may not have taken into account that the Kr may have changed hands many times and it's now in the account of some random person.
