Put a UI option to have...

In /loadskin, allow us to have the tabless chat windows back.

There has been an attitude for years that it's their way or the highway. There are workarounds however.

Don't use the patcher to routinely start the game. Only use it once a month after the patch. Then edit the file equi_chatcontainerwindow.xml and scroll down to <Style_Titlebar> and change it to false. I also change <Style_Border> to false. Then save the file.

Now, always use a shortcut with the -patchme option so the patcher doesn't overwrite your changes. (At least until the next time they actually change something so that you have to run the patcher to get those changes!)

I also delete the whirlagig noises after every patch and use Drakah's custom Default Old UI. It gets tedious but remember, you're in their world now and the customer is never right.

Good idea. I did your suggestion, but having <Style_Border> to false resulted in no ability to stretch the window. Also, there is no way to move the window. (keep note, this test I did was without the Drakah's Default Old.
Also, I have a feeling the WDT is not right...for the look. (I think? ) lol.
I would love to pick your brain on the topic.

I used to be an author on EQInterface years ago :). I simply have been to lazy to do this myself... and also make a 6 player group window :p
(Although my buff/shortbuff windows never broke;)

How about a worn item outline list tab with aug slots? I get so frustrated right clicking through each slot to see what augment is equipped (or not equipped at all). It would be nice just to have all the info there that I can put the cursor over to see the stats.

I wonder how many folks have embraced the chat tabs. I don't use them. I would have much preferred that they fix the typing portion of the chat windows so that /chatfontsize works in them.

This is correct and I view it as a good thing! During the heat of battle you can't accidentally move or delete a chat window!

The trick is to populate your UI with all your chats and position them correctly before editing the file. I like to use 9 chat windows so I actually partially overlay them one on top of another. Then when I lock them down via the edit the "active" chat pops to the top when I select it. It's my way of having all the chat windows I want but without losing too much screen real estate.
