Proc question

As a group wizard, I can't decide which is better for dps between Tome of Obulus+conflagrant athame and the Hammer of Magic V proc from conflagrant 2h. Which one do you think will be best for a group wiz? I usually group with an enchanter, if adps in this situation means something, but I mostly solo/box without adps. Have those procs the same chance to trigger? Do both procs twinproc? Any help will be much appreciated.

Have you considered Tome + Eldritch or another one hand damaging proc?

I haven't progressed much in EoK, and much less in RoS. I know that conflagrant are not BiS for a group wiz, but it's all I can get atm. And seeing how slow my brothers and I are progressing... I'm pretty sure I will be obligued to stick with conflagrant for a long, sad time. I know not much about wiz gear in those two recent expansions, so any input abput that will be appreciated, too!

The problem with Tome of Obulus is that the damage proc isn't focusable. So, it doesn't benefit from Fury of the Gods. If you're going DPS then the 2h option is usually the better one. If you want mana then your first option sounds pretty good. Twinproc works for detrimental so probably not for the mana return procs. But then I never really looked close or paid attention to that.

I don't know, that's why I decided to start the thread. By the way, even being a group wizard, I always want to do my best in all situations. There are yet many gear improvements I must do (mostly with augments), but I'm looking to improve little by little, day by day. So, as I said, any help will be more than welcome.

Well, Fury of the Gods isn't the only ADPS that comes into play. There's also manaburn and some other things like elemental arrow if you happen to group with a ranger and have an ice/fire proc. Ideally, I'd aim for The Fathomless Staff of Warding in RoS since it's cold based and has the same 9k proc.

Is it a big difference? Not really if you're solo. Even a full burn it would only be around 3k dps more with 2h.

What about the vp 2h? Same treatment as the fathomless? Or not because it is not ice/fire? (Think it is magic if I recall)

It's focusable so the only real loss is elemental arrow which by itself isn't that big a deal. I'd definitely use it if I need a bit more mana.

As far as 1h + tome the only time I actually use that combo is for the healing. It's useful for the Hoshkar raid or if we were doing the Trakanon raid. But outside that probably not.

Just curious...why are you using the Conflagrant Atheme instead of the Conflagrant Bodkin if dps is what you are after?

The Bodkin has a 9k disease proc (at -200 resist).

whoahey, bugged proc there. maybe you observed it late enough in the cycle to get another month in, but that's a 2h proc and 100% to be fixed when a developer becomes aware of it
