Primary/Secondary/Guild Anchors How do they work?

How does one place a guild anchor?

So I was looking to spend some of the loyalty points and got a primary anchor on my Sk and also a Guild anchor package on my druid.

However, I can't figure out how to place anchors in the guild hall.

It is just a regular guild hall first created some 8-9 years ago before custom housing.

Do I have to buy an upgraded guild hall to place a guild anchor?

What would be the least expensive method (SC or plat wise) for being able to use guild anchor?

Would it be just dropping the anchor to ground or clicking it?

Without the new guild hall the best method would be to buy a plot and drop the anchor onto it. I don't know how the guild hall one would work with that.

Anchors only work with housing. You at least need to buy a GH plot for your Guild (they are cheap) and (though not required) a standard guild hall to place with all the fixings is cheap too. For the GH anchor though, it is only usable by druids and wizards - I don't believe it comes with a clicky like the primary/secondary anchors do. It only comes with port spells....

You can however place a Primary/secondary anchor in a guild hall as well as long as you have the permission to do all this. You can also just buy a plot in a neighborhood and drop the primary/secondary anchors on that. Yes, you'd still have to zone out to the GL and then zone into your standard guild hall - but better than running/zoning lots of zones if you're limited on transportation options. The Primary and secondary anchors have clickies that are usable by everyone. They have a recast time of over an hour which is why having both the primary and the secondary can be useful.

Thank you for the explanation guys!

I am not keen on buying housing plot if it means more zoning as in housing->GL->GH, as my mains all have Throne of Heroes AA which gives the more convenient GL->GH every 72mins.

So if I buy a some sort of improved? Guild Hall I would be able to drop an anchor in that, so I can get to GH immediately?

Yes. Several versions of customizable guild hall (that objects like your Anchors can be placed in) are available from the housing zone merchants, and another couple versions are in the Marketplace. I recommend the Modest Guild Hall unless you have a very populous and active guild, since the Palatial version is simply cavernous and strange without a whole team working on concepts to decorate it.

Visit a bunch of open halls on various servers to see what folks have done with them.

Yes, if you buy a Modest Guld Hall you can then place anchors directly in it (assuming guild leader checks the appropriate tickyboxes to allow placements). Placing the anchors=either picking it up out of your inventory and "dropping" it in the hall, or hitting shift-I, selecting the anchor in inventory, and clicking "place" in the guild hall window that comes up. Also, if you are going from guild lobby to guild hall you still don't have to go through the housing zone--the right hand guild hall door will go to the old guild hall from pre-housing days, the left hand door will go to the new housing guild hall.

the primary and secondary anchor packages will come with an anchor and a clicky, and for the druid it will also come with 4 spells--ring, circle, zephyr, and push. The ring and circle are self and group ports like usual, the zephyr and push spells are target translocate spells, one of which sends your druid's target to your druid's anchor and one sends target to the target's anchor. I can never remember which is which. The guild hall anchor package ONLY comes with the anchor and an area effect translocate to anchor. I find it useful to have all 3 packages on my port characters.

Come check out my Palatial Guild Hall in The Midnight Riders Guild Village on Test later this evening. I made a castle using Azerthan's awesome items from Player Studio & they finally put the moat pieces in yesterday so I am going to add those & make the moat once the server is back up after the patch.

In open zones you can find some unused guild plots (each zone comes with 4), buy one for plat, have at least 10 guild members (and maintain at least 10) and buy a modest guild hall for plat, to place- you might have to have the guild leader buy and place the guild hall. Put a few thousand plat into the hall escrow and you should be good for quite some time. If your folk are into decorating, you can buy larger halls, the Palatial being the largest, best visit some to see what you like, also once you have a housing guild hall, you will want to buy a Shabby Lobby Door or several of them to place in the hall and click to choose open way to lobby or you will exit at the front door into housing.
