Recently? I call shenanigans - they adjusted it to ignore summons shortly before Teek launch.

But there was a false positive issue with fear/summon previous to that.

Key broadcasting and software KVMs are part of the no-no list. They've made that clear in the past.

Part of why the entire "buy accounting keypads" thing became part of the boxing meta, because that's the legal way. Although multi-device keyboards are also a thing for those that are willing to spend a few more bucks (although I will say, personally - I find the switching timers on any I've tried to be impractical for boxing vs. minipads). Mice tend to be more convenient (esp. if you go trackball if you're worried about mousepad territory), but there's multi-device variants of them as well.

It was a couple of months ago, can't remember the exact date.

Hold on, when did they say software KVMs were an issue? There isn't anything in the rules about that either.

GM standard practice needs a lot of adjusting. Their copy/paste comments about actions and privacy is one of those things. They certainly don't have to tell you what they did or did not do, but they should not be saying that they "cannot give out this information" or that it is "considered private", as that contradicts official company policy. In general, they are way too careless in the way they respond to tickets.
  6. Waring_McMarrin Augur

How exactly does that contradict official company policy? They have posted many times on the forums that they can't share the actions that get taken for various reasons.
  7. Zalphos Augur

See the privacy policy. Actions taken against a player's account falls under "other information", which is not protected.

You can figure out someone's name and address from their phone number, email, or social security number, which is why data like that is protected. But you can't identify or locate someone based on whether they were suspended or not, which is why that is not considered private.
  8. Waring_McMarrin Augur

Where exactly does it say that? I don't see any information in that privacy policy about GM actions on your account. You may not consider it private but that doesn't mean that Daybreak feels the same way.

I think you are confusing PII (personally identifiable information) and PI (private information) as there is plenty of information about you that won't identify you but is still considered private
  9. Zalphos Augur

Daybreak feels two different ways about everything.
  10. Waring_McMarrin Augur

I will go back to my question of what evidence do you have that sharing actions taken against accounts isn't against their own rules? The privacy policy you linked before doesn't discuss that.
  11. Demetri Augur

Yea, was probably during the false positive portion I'd wager then.

Ages ago, when people were commenting on being surprised on being banned for using key broadcasting, Daybreak followed up stating that all types of software KVM were not appropriate for TLP servers.

At least 3-4 years ago. May have even been 5-6, it was during Phinigel's life cycle, I want to say VoA era.

I distinctly remember the conversation included someone that was claiming they were using Multiplicity without broadcasting and they got a negative response on its use.

That said, I can't imagine it's policed too much - but around the same time, you saw the mass adoption of miniboards shortly after as a response from the community to do a hardware version.
  13. Gnothappening Augur

Interesting. I seem to recall someone, Tuco or Riskio maybe? That said he used multiplicity and stated it on the boards. He was explaining how he used six necros to hold down some camp and would use the mouse without borders feature to quickly move to each screen and do something.

I didn't realize multiplicity was against TOS, I've had tons of folks recommend that for keyboard/mouse management for boxing. Numpads still is my preferred but if they are suspending for that it seems crazy.

Especially when there are 100% automated crews happily camping sections of zones for days on end without logging and it is apparently okay.

I've said more than once that sanction data falls under "other information", which is not protected under the privacy policy. Their legal team is not going to categorize all types of information explicitly, as the list would be endless.
  17. Waring_McMarrin Augur

Again, just because that is how you see that data it doesn't mean that is how Daybreak sees that data. Just because you can't identify someone from that data doesn't mean it isn't considered private data. Given how they have posted on the forums about never sharing what action they take on accounts it does seem likely that they treat that data as private.
  18. Zalphos Augur

They don't want to share that data, but it's not because of privacy.

Tuco doesn't play on TLPs, the caveat I'm referring to is for TLPs only. They don't care about key broadcasting on Live either for that matter.

And yes, Tuco is where I had first used it (from knowing him on FOH forums explaining his methods) until I saw the negatives from staff about it on TLPs.
  20. Waring_McMarrin Augur

Seems like speculation on your part as I know many would consider the status of their account to be private information.
