ZAM is partially commercialized, but most other projects are free, and are being done by active players. Speaking for myself, I won't feel left out if Daybreak does integrate all my data into their own projects. It was much work to create all that stuff, and some stuff has to be updated constantly. Less work would be good for me, and I only created most of my stuff because something similar was not available, or scattered over the net. I wanted to have interesting stuff centralized on my website, to let them find easily.

Because people like to know where something began. What was the spark that ignited the game, a game I might add, that has been around for 25 years despite people's doom and gloom predictions. Sure, it isn't what it used to be, but that is what has some people curious. What did the original developers envision this game to be?

Further more, you have people like myself that like to get into the lore. Will those documents discuss the lore behind Norrath? It couldn't have been simply a "lets throw pixels together and sell it."

There is so much to learn about the past of this game to help keep it going in the future.

Because it's better than Palworld and Hero Wars combined.

I heard a rumor or story - I cannot for the life of me remember where I heard this however, TLDR flying mounts were a goal for Kunark and having a flying mount was supposed to be the only way to get into VP (not a key). You would go to Chardok to a place only flying mounts could get to and fly to VP?

Crazy rumor. Crazy idea that sounds like Brad would've had. I'd like to see if that was true or what the idea was. So many things could be contained in the document to show us how ambitious the game was. The possible lore associated with it all is really interesting.

If it is true it aligns with how you can lose queen raid in Empires of Kunark, with her flying away on a mount.

It wasn't about legality; it was about whether management would agree with the idea of ever releasing it, unless I remember incorrectly.

I would recommend you buy these books if you are one with the lore.

I only ask why because some people they just like to have access, they not going to read it they just want access thats it.

    Anyways I would recommend these.

Transformation, what happened what is going on. Transformation that was an expansion that never happened? Whose Devin Grayson? Unsung EQ visionary?

Also this book, this one I really enjoy the cover sometimes you can tell what kind of vibe the person wanted the game to be by looking at the cover.

Maybe Brad McQuiad was able saving princesses and what not. Look at the cover whats the deal. Venril Sathir what places did he overrun, is Norrath in shambles Firiona Vie is captured, who are the people that save her.

That book was written by Brad McQuaid

LOL? Why is she at 50%? The world may never know.
I was there and i have no idea
The last comments are from 2005.
No one since 2005 seemed to care.
Then some people say, there are nothing to report on Kunark, the only things that can possibly be left unturned are on raid currency expansions.
    Hrmmmm? Hrmmm?

This is good storytelling too by the way.
It is good to have a purpose as the main character.
I've got to save the princess, the princess is the main NPC of EQ, its high time, its do or die time, its a must win scenario, if we do not save her its game over.
    Purpose!

In my profession finding the beginnings of something is pretty important. For instance, at my job it is my responsibility to find important documentation, photographs, and other items and preserve them. It is important for me to go out and interview people that were part of the beginnings. Both are important to understand the ideas, visions, and dreams of what those people had to start what they did. It is also important to see if their vision and dreams are still being fulfilled today, or have we changed course over the years. So, I also preserve all the changes.

Sometimes if you have changed course, it is good to go back to the original ideas, dreams, and visions to correct that course if the change didn't work out. Sometimes you find out that during the years, things have been tried before when someone comes out with a "new" idea on how to change something because no one is around when it was tried before. And that idea may not have worked the first time, so they can learn how to approach it differently the second time.

You are right, many people don't go back to read the stuff, so they never learn from what is available. But there are those of us that are dedicated to preserving it nonetheless. because one day someone will want to come in to see what happened and learn from it. I am already seeing that happen, and our program is only a year old.

As for the reading material you mentioned, those would be a good read, but they aren't canon. In fact, the devs said during Fippy Fest that even the design docs weren't canon, but they can choose what is canon or not. Regardless, there are many of us that would like to read the original design docs just to see what I talked about in my previous paragraphs.

Thinking Devin Grayson might be an unsung lore/storyteller of original EQ. Since they have a book about EQ, was written 2002, so pretty much early days of EQ. Written 2002 meaning they was writing the book well before 2002.

The other people may not be there with us anymore, but there are other people. It's more than 1 man show. There is a lot of lore.

And like those dev's, think when it was EQ2s turn or EQ1.
Someone was saying, I want to create that zone, thats mine.

Probably concept back in EQ, maybe some zone was not Brad's vision it was the other person's vision.

Maybe good side vision is Brad's. Maybe the evil side is Devin Grayson.
Just observation of Brad and others made the book following Firiona Vie.
I don't know anything about the other book, but its a dark elf, so maybe Devin Grayson the evil side, if you wanna know about evil ones, that was someone elses vision.

Then they combine the visions together and create a story, conflict.
