AOW has best items in velious for; leg slot for monk, best face slot for brd and rogue, best head slot for warrior and best weapon for war/rng/bard.....all of which are droppable items. King Tormax has the best Boots and Gloves for all tanks....and they are droppable as well. King tormax also has the best bracer for monks which is droppable. King tormax also has the best ring for mag/nec/wiz/ench which is droppable and the best 1 hand weapon in the game for tanks (35ac on horn of hsgara) and is also the best rogue backstab weapon and it is....yep...you guessed it....tradeable.

End Game Velious has more droppable bad loot than any other expansion. You are delusional.

    Agreed about letting us vote.

I also wish they would either come out and say yes we can do it or no its not happening.

The vast majority of people who I feel are against instancing are the super hardcore.

The get some sort of enjoyment out of having items other people dont have, and keeping those same people from getting those items.

I wont be a hardcore raider and I vehemently oppose instancing.

AoW is the exception not the rule for endgame Velious. For most of the other Kael items, I'd suggest looking at HoT and Vulak - they're the best for how comparatively easy KT is to NToV, but just off my head Myrolokar's > Horn. (15/19 +12% BS vs. 13/20 no mod - it's not even remotely close for rogues) I recall a better bracer in Halls of Testing. I'm sure most other is trumped as well, he's a lower tier than NToV/HoT. Maybe a few oddballs are better, that's one of the great things about early itemization is good things sneak in weird places.

It's great stuff, largely #2-4 range for best in slot, and highly valued because for droppable stuff they're amazing - but they're not best in era. (Hell, Horn of Hsagra < Ragebringer for a Rogue even.... it's a warrior offhander for those that refuse to use a shield)

The point of the droppable gear is this - when the good gear is tradeable, there's actually an economy. There isn't, beyond potions and miscellaneous junk, when it's all no drop.

Even if someone can't understand that, the other point is that it becomes a non-issue partially with Velious and totally with Luclin.

I call on everyone '' instancing would ruin my classic experience/immersion''... it's a handfull of mob, especially in classic... And if your entire experience/immersion revolve around raiding naggy/vox, you're in for a disappointment when you see several guild camping the spawn point , killing him within second of spawning.

There's only 2 group of people with a valid reason against instancing: the super-hardcore who enjoy being better than other people / blocking other people more than playing the game itself, or the RMT player who hope to make some money by perma-camping something 24/7.

I think it's fair to say that you're forgetting there are a few people that just like to play to grief, trains and the like. I'm only aware of 1 player that actually got banned for repeatedly training people, I'm guessing he must of been pretty bad. The story goes (rerolled) that a crowd gathered around his corpse to watch it poof after he was banned and the rez timer ran out. I don't remember if anybody mourned the loss.
I guess there will be plenty of room for these players even with instanced raids. Can probably train to your hearts content in U Guk! I don't remember where I capped on Vulak but I stayed well away from Guk.
I certainly consider all 3 types to be detrimental to player population and morale.
Instancing certainly improves on that situation.
Machen quite rightly pointed out that if somebody really wants to wipe a raid for the sake of griefing it's possible, but at least it's a bit more difficult.

Technically there's quite possible some devs that don't want to dedicate the time to it as well - that would technically be another group. If you'd said "groups of players" though, I think you're absolutely correct.

Hey guys don't have time to read all the thread but have any devs weighed in on this yet? I remember Rosh saying they were considering it but any recent news?
  10. GenericName11 Augur

You'll know when they say something :)
  11. Vaclav Augur

Roshen did lock the other thread someone started today stating "Closing this. Already have plenty of other places to have conversations about instancing." - so clearly they're quite aware of the discussion and likely the fervor.

If I was a betting man, I'd imagine they've decided they need to do something and are deciding on if instancing is it. I can't imagine they've taken note of this thread (and other mentions) and decided that nothing needs be done.

I keep logging into test every few days to check on a new poll, whats the hold up?
  13. Fizzle Augur

Lol this thread is impossible to ignore, sure it got their attention.
  14. GenericName11 Augur

I guess the loot system? Or the "plumbing?" It's hard to know with minimal dev interaction. They do have the anniversary stuff right now too.
  15. Fizzle Augur

Yeah they seem to be putting lots of focus on the advanced looting. We'd all be interested in hearing what they intend to do about this instance though, very hot topic.

Hysterical that you tell my story on EQmac and act as if i was training people willy nilly and not specifically targeting hackers and the guilds that harbored them.

I policed my own server for years until one of those hackers got into the top guild on the server (who had a member of SOE (hobart) playing with them) and consequently was immediately banned after i trained them with that guild tag.

I am widely regarded as a hero on EQmac....this doesnt happen to people who grief randoms.

Im starting to think you are one of the hackers i drove off the server.
  17. Crayon123 Augur

Only in your own mind... *rolls eyes* IIRC it was a celebration when your corpse finally rotted on the eqmac forums. Either way, this has nothing to do with instancing. Keep it on topic. Give us a vote!

Lron Quixote. Can't say he doesn't play it well.
  19. Vaclav Augur

How did he ever get out of Steamfont if true?

Yes, the few hackers that were left on the server were ecstatic that i was banned because they had free reign over the server at that point.

And less than a year later...the server was shut down. ...coincidence? I think not.
