Please add the ability to block buffs on mercs

I'm so tired of Flight of Falcons overwriting my Tala Tak on my mercs.

Which I why I don't cast Flight of Falcons on anyone unless they ask, because it blocks/removes shaman buff.

There are other buffs I wish I could block too, but that one is the most annoying since the icons look the same.

No Tala Tak here, but I cast FoE/FoF on my boxes, but constantly have to cancel it on my mercs. Otherwise they float above the mobs, and don't engage.

Mercs should be just immune to levitation buffs by default.
  6. Fanra https://everquest.fanra.info

Then as you float across an area, they have to spend time navigating the maze below and will take even longer to catch up to you.

Perhaps add a, "Merc come here", command that pops them to you? Like the summon pet spell/items.
  7. I_Love_My_Bandwidth Mercslayer

How about a command that blocks any spell with levitate? ;)
  8. Tatanka Joe Schmo

Set yourself to puller, then turn off puller.

viola! Merc is at your side :)

This does not work well in zones with doors and stairs (z-axis) like Old Sebilis where mercs easily get stuck in geometry.

That would be a nice addition. I think that mercs are already based on pets which would mean that all pet commands could be added to them.

It isn't levitation that is the issue, it's the overwriting of a superior buff.

Yeah, but Levitation effects are their own issue. Being a druid and keeping them up on myself, it's real annoying to get whaled on by a mob because my idiot merc is too busy trying to figure out how to path to me because it has some form of levitate on them.

  13. Tatanka Joe Schmo

When mercs won't engage, because they have lev on and float above the ground, it is an issue.

Not so specific, I'm with OP and just let us block all spells by choice. Just because one poster mentioned Tala Tak overwrites doesn't suddenly make it a thread about that.

OP Posits: Let us block merc buffs.

Which is how it should be.

Merc with lev pathing is a separate issue.

Or not allowing me to chose for my merc to have skin.
  16. Veteran_BetaTester PIZZA!

That is just a mechanic the game needs to fix.

... issue is not the buff it is the mechanic of the buff effecting the merc.

There definately should not be a nerf on the levitation of Ranger/Druid 'sow' type buff , the issue is with mercs effected by the levitation.
  17. Skuz I am become Wrath, the Destroyer of Worlds.

I have asked for the ability to block spells & buffs for mercs so many times....

The number 1 reason is to block the promised mending line that cleric mercs cast.

On a player it will somtimes kill you, as the Cleric merc waits for the promised buff to trigger before they resume casting heals.

On a Merc Tank it will even more frequently kill them.

At least you can block it on yourself, merc clerics simply do not use the spell in a smart way like player clerics do, the merc clerics are too stupid to use this spell in a smart way.

Because of this interaction issue I even asked for cleric mercs to have the promised line removed, it is nothing but trouble, give them the shining armor reactive buff instead, something actually useful.

    But no.

The devs appear to WANT the Merc Cleric to kill you & your Merc Tank by waiting for promised to fire.

This is not the only reason that players want to be able to buff/spell block their Mercs there are plenty of other situations, but the Promised issue is for sure the most annoying to me.

And if you find that to be an issue, my idea would allow you to block those spells. I like levitate on my mercs when travelling. Many times I will click it off both me and my merc when I get where I am going because I dislike levi unless I need it to keep from dying from falling damage.

Once I blocked the promised heals I find myself dying much less when using a healer merc
