Planes of Power - Alternate Access Quests for Progression Servers

    Hi DGB,

For PoP on progression servers it would be nice to have the Alternate Access quests available to players for back flagging purposes and small group progression.

Currently these quests do no count toward the Planar Progression as whole, however they allow unrestricted access for one group or one player (depending on the quest) to the zone in question.

Request: Can these Alt Access Quests be made to apply to the actual.Planar Progression?

This is something I could see some guilds begging for during PoP so they aren't forced to constantly blackflag the Lower Tier zones just to flag 1-2 more people.

At the very least it would be nice if these quests were available during PoP on progression servers and they also provided players access tot he instanced versions of the raids for the zones they grant access to.

Quests for granting Single Zone/Area -
    Crypt of Decay Access:
    Halls of Honor Access:
    Plane of Tactics Access:
    Plane of Torment Access:
    Sol Ro Chamber Access:
    Temple of Marr Access:

Quests for an Alternative means of getting a backflag:
    Behemoth (PoInnovation) Flag:
    Grummus (PoDisease) Flag:
    Hedge+TT (PoNightmare) Flag:
    Keeper of Sorrows (Potorment) Flag:

These are already active on Progression Server:
Plane of Fire Alt Access: 85% in and Hail the PP after killing Fennin Ro Event
Plane of Earth Alt Access: 85% in and Hail the PP after killing Rathe Event
Plane of Water Alt Access: 85% in and Hail the PP after killing Coirnav Event
Plane of Air Alt Access: 85% in and Hail the PP after killing Xegony Event
    Plane of Time Alternate Access:

For the record....I'm not going to be one of the people who need to take advantage of this personally....but I will be spared by having to backflag as many of the lower tier raids as possible for my slacker guild mates...if you make these active during PoP.

    Spare us! TY

Backflagging is part of the classic PoP EQ experience! STOP TRYING TO RUIN MY IMMERSION!

Ain't nobody got time for back flagging.

Several (or maybe all, it's been awhile) of these quests are classic to PoP when it launched. Non-raid access was provided via alternative quests for everything except the EP's. Are you saying that they're not active on TLP's for PoP?

These quests were active on Vulak/FIppy though I THINK they didn't activate till GoD launched, though I could be wrong on that. I do know they were in the game at some point.

Pretty sure this is correct, I do not think they were active during PoP.

Making things easier doesn't add any amount of fun to the game, it only peels away at it's once quality content.

Not always true. Original, pre-retuned Gates for instance. Much more fun now that it is actually beatable in era.

If they are going to instance everything in PoP (which seems to be the case, which is why it's being delayed) then back flagging shouldn't be that big of an issue, because you can do it whenever you want and not race the next guild for the pone world spawn.

Some may have been active on Fippy, but I doubt it. And Sol Ro definitely wasn't. That backflag is so painfully easy that I'm sure guilds would have done that to help get numbers for Sol Ro and minis. I'm sure someone will correct me, but I think a number of these weren't implemented until an expansion or two after PoP launch back in the day.

Backflagging is always going to be a pain in the , even with fully instanced content. It is typically either new members or lower attendance members who need backflags, and the ones that need it rarely all show up on the night when you've scheduled backflagging.

Eci used to have an awesome backflag channel that would run all the raids in the lower tears frequently(as spawns allow) . We need something like that for Phinny.
  13. Nolrog Augur

That's very true. But you take out the race to get to the mob because he is now up, which may be on a Wednesday when someone can't raid. Now you can plan to do it when it's the convenient for as many people that need it as possible. Plus, I think in PoP, you can people in and mobs drop the back flag (I'm pretty sure this is true of at least Quarm, which also takes away some of the burden.)
  14. Extra Extra Lorekeeper

Nobody kills the gods after they have done them 1-2 times total, as potime makes all loot obselete from prior events. Honestly you really dont even need pop instancing, every guild on the server can probally get time flagged in 2-3 weeks.
  15. Machen New Member

No way. Not even with fast respawn. There are nearly 20 guilds now actively doing in era content.
  16. Extra Extra Lorekeeper

There wont be in 9 months when pop comes out.

Haha, someone has never played a non instanced TLP server before...

A certain guild killed T1 PoP Gods as far as late GoD for the single and sole purpose to prevent any other guild getting to Plane of Time...and that certain guild is playing on Phinny now.

Instancing in PoP is 100% required...moreso than any other expansion imo.

Nothing in the previous servers' history suggests there will be a significant drop in # of raid guilds between kunark/velious and pop.

PA isn't like any other TLP. With the extended timetable I'm wagering they will make the aa grind brutal to 'give us something to do', Boredom, burnout, and mighty buff might get the best of many people.

Between that and how easy it is to screw the trigger mobs on certain pop raids for the sake of griefing others, I'd say instancing is necessary with this population.
